Oh... this guy is too much. I call him "Mr. Distraction" because thats what he is. He blindly supported Mr. Bush's Iraq war without ever asking a single tough question about it. Then when it got bad for him and his republican cronies, (around the "Mission Accomplished" time) he ignored it and our troops. He said that if Saddam didn't have WMD's he would "never trust the Bush administration agian." Well, that latest about one second. I was never onto this guy until I started watching him in 2005 and was very suprised to see his show cluttered with tabloid topics such as his extensive coverage of the Michael Jackson trial (even devoting an hour of non-stop coverage on verdict night), Jennifer Wilbanks, Robert Blake, Scott Peterson, Terry Schiavo, and more. In my opinion... he did it all for one reason... to divert attention from the horribly going Iraq war, civil war in Afganistan, American/Iraqi casualty numbers, the Bush administration's pitful attempt to capture UBL, record deficit, and all the other important defining issues of our time. Because when your covering this blonde, you don't to go out and find another blonde to distract your viewers with. I was naturally also very supsicious when he took it under his wing to become an "advocate for the children" during the Jessica Lundsford case, and cracking down on "sexual predators." In my opinion, he did it for one reason... to distract a dense viewing audience too stupid to catch on.

Then came summer of 2005... and he was on top of that Natalee Holloway case. Even before the justice shows like "Nancy Grace" and "The Abrams Report" were ontop of it. He covered that thing every single night. And what a great way to divert attention from the war, Cindy Sheehan protesting outside the President's ranch in Texas, and the 1,836 dead Americans due to the Bush administration's federal emergency response failures during Katrina. He asked Beth Twitty suspicious questions about the FBI's involvement in her daughter's case (BTW... don't you just love it when federal agencies get involved with 'the case of the missing blonde?').

The rest of 2005 he continued his child advocacy work and continued diverting the attention of his viewers from the real news. In 2006, it got worse. This time, BillO cracked down on judges who gave sex offenders lenient sentences. Exploring every avenue he could to sensationalize, scandalize, and exploit an already exploited child. And getting worried when the Dubai ports story broke, BillO played private investigator on his show every night investigating and re-investigating, hashing out and re-hashing out, condemning and re-condemning every element of the oh so nationally important Duke rape case (this time conservative radio talk show hosts caught on to BillO's brilliant discration scheme and played PI and defense attorney as well).

Okay Bill, we get it... you like crime stories. Who am I to judge? I like giving people the benefit of the doubt. Maybe BillO is just doing this for the good of the people and the safety of America's children. Well then why on August 17th, 2006 did you devote 5 minutes of your show to the John Mark Karr/Homeland Security adventure completely ignoring Judge Anna Diggs Taylor's ruling that the Bush administration's wiretaps on Americans were illegal? If your really an advocate for the children? Why not cover the Ramsey story? JonBenet Ramsey is not a child? From what I can tell it was one of the most brutal and hanus crimes of the century. But you did slip a little bit that night and mention to Greta Van Susteren that Immigations and Customs Enforcement (ICE) were involved in the arrest (AKA... the U.S. Department of Homeland Security). Now, Fox didn't want us to know that Homeland Security was involved in that arrest. When they reported the story earlier in the day, they just mentioned that Karr had confessed to "federal agents." (Which BTW... if you have any doubts about wether or not the Karr story was legitimate or wether it was just a big ploy to distract us from Judge Anna Diggs Taylor's ruling... consider this... Karr confessed to "federal agents"... a federal offense... so why wasn't he charged with lying to federal agents? Martha Stewart was.) The next day, BillO was on with Bernard Goldberg and Jane Hall and was just outraged that the media was spending so much time on this JonBenet Ramsey case (well BillO, didn't you in 2005, spend the same amount of time or more on the Jessica Lundsford case? Whats the difference?) He said that shows that spent "60 minutes" on the Ramsey case was the equivalent of covering "nothing." Really BillO? Have we been watching the same show the past two years? In the days to come, BillO largely ignored the story. One day devoting his radio show to a two hour segment on Iran because thats more important to you and your "family."

My opinion is that Fox News channel and Bill O'Reilly were worried to death the whole time the John Mark Karr/Homeland Security adventure was going on that it was going to get exposed... so they trivialized it. In fact, during Mary Lacy's (Boulder DA) final press conference, (where her and her assistants were trying desprately not to mention the words (and praying the media would not bring up) "Homeland Security" or "Ann Hurst" or "Gary Phillips") Fox News cut it in the middle to go to the President propogandize the American public on Gulf relief, (it was the one year anniversary of Hurricane Katrina) too little... 1,836 victims too late George Bush.

I didn't watch for weeks after that because I was so outraged. But I did watch after the midterm elections (when the democrats won the house) to see BillO's reaction and he was back advocating for childern... this one from Boulder, Colorado, (the same town JonBenet Ramsey was from) Jason Midyette. Nowhere did BillO say/ask wether or not the U.S. Department of Homeland Security was/should be involved in this Colorado homicide.

That Christmas, in traditional BillO fashion he pushed the hunt for UBL aside in favor of a much more releavant story to all of our lives... the war on Christmas.

I loved Janurary because it began with a bang and caught BillO in his own trap. He said (and once agian slipped in a segment with Greta VanSusteren, bet he'll never have her on his show agian) that Shawn Hornbeck, (a former missing child) kidnapped at age of 11 (suffering from Stockholm syndrome and sexual abuse (something BillO claims to fight agianst) "had a lot more fun than what he had under his old parents... [and] there was an element here that the kid liked abut this circumstance." It just goes to show you that Bill O'Reilly doesn't really care about these victims, their families, or their circumstances. He doesn't really care about the well-being of children in America. He cares about covering these stories for one reason... ratings and to divert attention from the real news (and sometimes not covering them like I pointed out with the John Mark Karr/Homeland Security adventure).

When AnnaNicole Smith died, (and don't you just love how so many celebrities seem to by mysteriously dying of random drug overdoes at times of breaking (often bad) news for republicans, either these are the most selfless celebrities in the world for giving their lives for the republican pary or something else is going on) BillO claimed he was "not interested" yet covered the story almost every night. Even caring about the story so much to get Prince Frederick Von Anhalt to take a lie detetor test (it didn't work out, but just the fact that he tried to do it is amazing). Its funny.

I didn't watch much for the rest of the year because I was pretty sick of it and like watching "Countdown" better at 8:00 but I still tune in from time to time to see what BillO is covering, or more importantly not covering. I was pretty shocked he wasn't fired over the Hornbeck comment. So it was no suprise that he wasn't fired over the comment that he was shocked African American citizens can behave in restraunts. I doubt he (or John Gibson) will ever be fired no matter how many outrageous, racist, demeaning things they say because hes a big conservative money maker for Fox and thats all they care about. And as long as the American people are dense enough to tune in and take him seriously, hes stuck with a place on the airwaves.

I'm bored so.......
"Even caring about the story so much to get Prince Frederick Von Anhalt to take a lie detetor test (it didn't work out, but just the fact that he tried to do it is amazing)."

Prince said he was the dad.BOR called him a nutt job .Prince hired a lawyer and tried to sue BOR. BOR told him to take a lie test to prove he was the dad. Prince droped the lawsuit soon after.

I was naturally also very supsicious when he took it under his wing to become an "advocate for the children" during the Jessica Lundsford case, and cracking down on "sexual predators."

He's been on that topic long before Jessica.

He asked Beth Twitty suspicious questions about the FBI's involvement in her daughter's case (BTW... don't you just love it when federal agencies get involved with 'the case of the missing blonde?').

Do you forget the fact that the FBI often gets involvemment in murders, disappeares of Americans in other countries??

Do you forget that it was the white and black liberal media that pushed the Duke rape case ??? This cased was pushed by a Democrat DA??

5 minutes of your show to the John Mark Karr/Homeland Security adventure . 5 mins wow really???? Did you miss the 12 hour str8 coverage of MSNBC ???

Judge Anna Diggs Taylor's ruling that the Bush administration's wiretaps on Americans were illegal?

Also did you miss that ruling was overturned??

Also, it didn't take 5 mins before anyone with common sense to say Karr was not the guy.

Why haven't you mention the fact this arrest was pushed by a DA that was in trouble for not charging a couple with child abuse, returning the child back to the parants, and some 3 days later the parents murdered the child.

And you forget about the Jena 6. Bush,CNN, and the NYTimes created a fake race story to get people's minds off the war and Katrina.
Oh how everyone bought that lol.

I'm glad you like watching "Countdown".Olby covers Britney Spears and Tom Cruise like no other media sites.

You 21 Percenters make me laugh. In one post you can call Bill O' trash, people who watch his show stupid, but yet you think he and Fox News rule the world.

If BOR is trash and his viewers are stupid, why do you 21 percenters fear him so?

"Prince said he was the dad.BOR called him a nutt job .Prince hired a lawyer and tried to sue BOR. BOR told him to take a lie test to prove he was the dad. Prince droped the lawsuit soon after."

I don't care if Prince was the dad or not... BillO didn't care if Prince was the dad or not. The whole thing was just a way to take peoples minds off the war and the Scooter Libby trial (which was going on at the time)

"He's been on that topic long before Jessica."

Your right... he was... only because the Iraq war was going horribly long before Jessica. But he really got it started when that Jessica thing happened.

"Do you forget the fact that the FBI often gets involvemment in murders, disappeares of Americans in other countries??"

No, they don't get involved in the "case of the missing blonde." They have better things to do. But they do get involved if a higher up asks them to and they will create a lot of hoopla for the media to cover (look for the body where they know it won't be, interrogate for days and weeks without getting anywhere, arrest and release, arrest and release, arrest and release, to get the media giddy on the story once agian, conduct searches of homes without finding anything, etc. bla bla bla).

"Do you forget that it was the white and black liberal media that pushed the Duke rape case ??? This cased was pushed by a Democrat DA??"

No, it was actually the conservative new media (Fox News, talk radio, conservative blogs) that lived, breathed, played PI, and defense attorney to every detail of the Duke rape case. Every hour Fox could not go by without a detailed study of the case. "Hannity & Colmes," a politicial talk show devoted the top two segments of their show to the story every night. The other media just followed along because they are really dense. I mean you had Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Bill O'Reilly, Mark Levin, Michael Savage, Glenn Beck (all those conservative right wing radio guys/hacks/water carriers) playing PI and defense attorney at the same time. They did it so they didn't have talk about Iraq, or Haditha (which H&C covered for one night with the angle of "Why is the liberal media so quick to convict?" at the end of their show because the top segments were devoted to playing defense attorney for the Duke Lacrosse players), or the Dubai ports deal (which was why the story was created), etc.

"5 minutes of your show to the John Mark Karr/Homeland Security adventure . 5 mins wow really???? Did you miss the 12 hour str8 coverage of MSNBC ???"

No, I didn't miss it... because like the rest of America I was fooled and actually so excited that we finally had justice for this child that I stayed up all night long and watched the Bangkok press confrence on CNN. Thats when I saw Ann Hurst of Homeland Security. It didn't take me long after that to see the correlation with Judge Anna Diggs Taylor's ruling and the rest is history. And BTW... 5 minutes is outrageous... that is a big story and for a guy that says he cares about America's kids and crime... to devote 5 minutes to it is totally hypocritical.

"Judge Anna Diggs Taylor's ruling that the Bush administration's wiretaps on Americans were illegal?"
I don't care, it was a big story that got ignored because of the John Mark Karr/Homeland Security adventure.

"Also, it didn't take 5 mins before anyone with common sense to say Karr was not the guy."

Well okay... then tell me... if he confessed to these federal agents... why isn't he being charged with lying to federal agents? Because the whole story was a hoax thats why.

"Why haven't you mention the fact this arrest was pushed by a DA that was in trouble for not charging a couple with child abuse, returning the child back to the parants, and some 3 days later the parents murdered the child."

Thats not the point... the point is that Bill O'Reilly ignored the election results (democrats winning the house) in favor for a tragedy TV tabloid story.

"And you forget about the Jena 6. Bush,CNN, and the NYTimes created a fake race story to get people's minds off the war and Katrina.
Oh how everyone bought that lol."

No, it was the conservative media that drove that. Agian, the rest of the media is just so dense, they just followed along.

"I'm glad you like watching "Countdown".Olby covers Britney Spears and Tom Cruise like no other media sites."
He covers them at the very end of the show after spending his entire hour on very hard news stories which is more than I can say for O'Reilly or Grace.

"You 21 Percenters make me laugh. In one post you can call Bill O' trash, people who watch his show stupid, but yet you think he and Fox News rule the world.

If BOR is trash and his viewers are stupid, why do you 21 percenters fear him so?"

I don't fear Bill O'Reilly, I just fear the ability that his viewers have to vote. And I fear the fact that some take him in thinking they are getting "fair and balanced" news.
