| redforgreen | Posted 1/28/2008 11:45:13 AM | show profile | email poster I recently launched a DC-based eco blog focusing on the green community here in the DC/MD/VA area. I'm looking for news, tips, and new businesses to profile including organic/sustainable restaurants, eco designers, green boutiques, etc. Please email me or go to http://goinggreendc.wordpress.com for more info. |

In that case it?s my duty to tell you about where I work. Island Press is a publishing company that specializes in non-fiction books about the environment. We also drink fair trade coffee and use recycled paper towels in the lunch room. Here?s a link to our Spring/Summer 2008 catalogue for a look at our newest publications: http://islandpress.org/books/catalogs/spring08/S08cat.pdf Thanks! Alex |

| jMOIRE | Posted 2/12/2008 12:25:06 PM | show profile | email poster Greening of DC Hi, I work on a lot of public relations initatives at the local DC level and around the country. Thought you might be interested in this information. Java Shack in Arlington is among the first certified green restaurants in the greater DC area. Another client is Virginia Tech's Energy Efficiency Partnership of Greater DC. They are working with Pepco and Hannon Armstrong, a financier, to retrofit and turn "green" existing DC buildings (mostly government and commercial) |
| redforgreen | Posted 2/12/2008 10:56:19 PM | show profile | email poster Attn: JMOire I tried to email you directly, but it bounced...so I am posting here: Thanks for the info! Do you know when Java Shack was certified or how I can get more info? There's not much on their website. Know of any other restaurants or cafes that are certified (and certified by whom?) We should definitely talk! Are you familiar with Live Green (www.greenlivingmadeeasy.org)? I'm helping them organize a happy hour next week. Info is on my blog: http://goinggreendc.wordpress.com. Please drop by if you can! Thanks! Sacha |
