I am just curious if anyone who is just starting out has created a profile they are proud of? I am waiting for my first clips to actually be published--they have been accepted but not gone to print--and feel rather silly attempting to create a profile out of thin air. Especially considering the featured profiles all read as though the individual was a professional writer from birth. Or something very close to it. :-)

Should I just hold off on creating a profile until I have something of substance to include? What have the rest of you done?

When I started out, I didn't have a full portfolio so I created my own samples to supplement (a company profile and PSA advertisement were among them). I let my potential employers know they were samples, not published works. I'm told (by other more seasoned pros) that employers really want to see that you can write, not necessarily that you have a full book. Good luck!
