hi! thanks for thinking of me. not a hell of a lot more to report yet. i will know more tomorrow. go ahead and email me off the board if you'd like, and i will give you details.

i had an mri today. it was totally obnoxious. and a tech named brittany made me cry with a comment about her grandma ("i know how you feel. my grandmother just had a recurrence after 11 years clear"). tears in my eyes, i said i was sorry about her grandma but i, personally, would be fine. way to go, brittany!!

Well, the hairy eyeball to Brittany! Just think of the advances and knowledge gained in the 11 years since her grandmother was diagnosed. You are not beginning your treatment from the same starting line. We are all cheering for you.

Hi PamelaBeth,

Feel free to email me if you want some positive news about fighting cancer (and winning!) from another young cancer survivor. Of course, everyone's experiences are different, and I had non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, not breast cancer, but I did learn a few tricks that might help you.

For instance, if you have to have chemo, and you're having the kind that makes you lose your hair, and if you decide you want to wear a wig, go wig shopping BEFORE you lose your hair. That way, a wig stylist can customize your wig to make it look more like your real hair. My person even added highlights to my wig!

Anyway, take good care of yourself. We are all thinking of you and wishing you all the best.

Pamela Beth - I obviously missed an important post somewhere along the line, so I'm just now reading this and learning that you're facing a health crisis. I'm very sorry.

I think because of Janet's great questions this community has become much more of a community as of late. While we don't know each other in real life, we've come to know each other on the board. I'm sure all of the MB folks will be sending good thoughts your way and keeping you in their prayers. I know I will be.

Take care of yourself.

pb--For starters, this brittany sounds as clueless as the papparazzi queen. But keep in mind also that her grandmother is most likely multiple decades older than you, which makes a huge difference in prognosis and recovery.
