Topic: Debates are pathetic!

| newyorker | Posted 1/29/2008 2:20:27 PM | show profile These TV debates are getting worse with each one! The same questions are being asked over and over and over again! How many times do we have to hear the same responses and the same questions about health care, Iraq and education? Wolf, Russert, etc, take note - ask some new questions! Perhaps, something to do with the current crisis in Kenya, or potential policies in Pakistan or North Korea, or more detailed economic policy questions.... |
| Nikongirl | Posted 1/29/2008 2:32:30 PM | show profile SHOW don't TELL For candidates, the old SHOW don't TELL, would be a better way to impress potential voters. Rather than spending so many millions of dollars to campaign, why not spend that money doing something good for the country, put that money into healthcare, education, housing, etc. that would be far more impressive than these goofy debates where (yawn), we have seen it, heard it all before and it is just more meaningless drivel. Both sides spew so much bullshit we need hip-waders just to watch the debates. I can hardly stand to look at Hillary?s fake expressions and the deer in the headlights eyes ? she looks like she?s ready to go bonkers she?s so desperate. |
| jtjt225m | Posted 1/29/2008 4:20:52 PM | show profile In most debates they have to ask the same questions, because not everyone has seen every debate. Its the same reason when candidates go out on the trail they do the same stump speech in every state. We may watch all the debates and be tired of the same questions, but not everyone has. Also, American have short memories. You tell something today, they'll forget you told next week. |
| jazzreport | Posted 1/29/2008 7:50:43 PM | show profile Too many candidates, not enough time to answer, and some of the worst questions i have ever heard. Either do it right or don't waste the media time. Just put all debates on PBS and NPR. Have the same mods for all debates.Only ask serious questions.Give at least 2 mins to answer questions. |
| jazzreport | Posted 1/31/2008 8:06:15 PM | show profile Also, the media shouldn't be allowed to pick and choose what candidates Americans choose from. All caucuses and primary elections should be held over 2 days. No results should be released until the last polling place closes. The media has to much power in deciding elections. |
