I just got finished with a chat for the first online class I've taken with MB...the software is pretty awful. gmail or google chat would work better.

a major problem: you can't tell when anyone else is typing
AND if you start typing and someone else posts before you, what you were typing gets wiped out. It made the whole chat session pretty disorganized. at least gmail will say "so and so is typing."

Since this is a suggestion box, I thought i'd suggest that MB invest in some better chat software. There's loads out there, especially for online learning. one i've used (as a student) is elluminate. (I'm not selling anything, don't worry.) it has some nice features.

i hope you look into doing something. $300 is a lot of money to spend.

thanks.

I agree
The chats were great, but we all complained about the awful software. And if you join the chat late, you can't scroll up to see the part you missed. Gotham Writers Workshop uses pretty good chat software, whatever it is.

Me too!
The whole MB online class software is God-awful. I'm no tech. expert but there's got to be a more attractive, more updated and more user-friendly chat and bulletin board tool out there.

I did enjoy the MB class I took recently but that software may prevent me from taking another.

Thanks for the suggestion. We are actually working on updating our online class platform right now. The new platform will have much improved chat and discussion board capabilities, and will be fully compatible with Mac and PC operating systems. We're looking forward to launching online classes on the new platform in the coming months.
Best,
Shauna
