| The Truth Cop | Posted 1/30/2008 10:40:30 AM | show profile Very interesting how last night's coverage of the Florida primaries turned out. CNN: Showed running vote tallies for GOP and Dems FNC: Showed running vote tallies for GOP and Dems MSNBC: Showed ONLY the GOP tally MSNBC chose to ignore the fact that 1.5 millions Democrats voted --in a primary that they were told didn't even matter! So, in essence, they still came out to vote even though no delegates were at stake. MSNBC tried to marginalize it all day, and took Senator Clinton to task for going to Florida after the polls closed to thank voters. She thanked the 857,000 voters that cast their ballots for her. 857,000 people that MSNBC thinks don't matter. Matthews brings on John Kerry and Ed Schultz (Obama surrogates) to diss the Florida primary and HRC's win. No balance; no fairness. It's pretty incredible. |
| Printingman | Posted 1/30/2008 10:57:20 AM | show profile | email poster That's not true, i watched MSNBC and they showed the vote tallies continuesly, albeit reminding the viewers that it doesn't count as far as deligates. Matthews and Olberman also interviewed Hillary at around 11:00 PM so what channel were you watching? |
| Baile | Posted 1/30/2008 11:02:18 AM | show profile They are now sick with Edwards... Now MSNBC is sick that Edwards is out and are trying to minimize the affect on Hillary's vote. The cite a "little known" poll that says voters in SC said that second to Edwards they would have voted for Obama. How desperate is MSNBC to see Hillary out? Mika is beside herself with inner rage at the idea that anything might be good for Hillary and is talking it all down. Well. she may be just doing Daddy's job. You know this all really got out of control after Matthews was put on the carpet for his hate Hillary campaign. One wonders what is going on in the background there. Are they angry at the fact that Matthews was publicly embarrassed? They closed ranks behind him? Stupid thing to do - now they all look stupid and unreliable. |
| The Truth Cop | Posted 1/30/2008 1:16:32 PM | show profile That's nonsense, printing man MSNBC had the large GOP graphic up while the other nets had both tallies. I've got the entire coverage taped, so please... |
| jtjt225m | Posted 1/30/2008 2:47:34 PM | show profile All three candidates pledged not to campaign in Florida, when the DNC took the delegates away. In my mind until those delegates count, Florida doesn't count. It doesn't matter that 1.5 millions went to vote. No one gets any delegates, so it doesn't matter right now. MSNBC did the right thing. If the party doesn't want you to campaign, and the candidates aren't there, why should the networks care? If the DNC doesn't care about it, the networks shouldn't either. Hillary is ridiculous. Now that she thinks things are getting close, she wants to do anything to win. Anyway possible. |
| The Truth Cop | Posted 1/30/2008 6:08:29 PM | show profile Wow, a competitor who actually wants to...win I've seen some silly comments in my time, but the above takes the cake. You can bet your *** that if Obama had won the Florida vote, MSNBC would have been all over it. I guess the poster above is saying the Democrats who went out to vote were fools to waste their time. That's the kind of arrogance that will defintely hurt any candidate who espouses it. |
| stvj57 | Posted 2/3/2008 8:05:33 PM | show profile who can trust a dem? and now it seems that the dems are going to try to make the delegates that were left out in florida and minnisota available after all. talk about the ultimate flip-flop. if you can't count on them to keep their word on that how are you supposed to be able to believe them on anything. |
