Topic: Pitching different sections of one Magazine

| Chk82 | Posted 1/30/2008 12:35:18 PM | show profile | email poster I've been writing for the front of the book section of a magazine for about 6 months, but would like to spread out and write in other parts of the magazine as well. Should I ask the editor I work with now, almost like ask their permission, or should I just write that specific editor I want to pitch and say, "I've been writing (section) articles for (editor) the past few issues and would like to pitch..." Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. |
| recovering_jersey_girl | Posted 1/30/2008 1:09:21 PM | show profile Well, I've only done this once (and it was recently, so I can't tell you if the second editor greenlighted me or not), but what I said was: I came across an idea that I think would be wonderful for [this other section]. Who's the best person for me to contact over there to share this info/trend/idea? |
