I've dealt with them with this issue specifically and that is their formal response. I also said it WAS possible. If you'd calmed down enough to read that part of my post. Do I think I'm that important? Well, no, since I continue to post. And maybe this crap doesn't matter to men, who don't discuss this shit. But you take a female editor who's being trashed on a media board and someone says she once worked with her and says XYand Z about her and she's going to be curious about it and she could very well ask. Did I say this DOES happen (the name giving, just so you follow). No. Did I say I could SEE it happening. Yes. WHich is why we're basically saying the same thing: Be careful what you post here. You think MB employees NEVER party with /have social relationships with some of the people who are posted about on this board? SOme of the places they work? Think that, then. Then go back on Gawker and look up the post about that email Lauren accidently CC'd around when she still owned MB. Check out the CC list. I'd provide the link, but, fuck it. |

You sound bitter over a past slight, maybe job that went to someone with an inside connection, or a story that went to an editor's sorority sister. Lord knows what travesties has happened to you. Actually, I do. You're the one who rants and raves over the way women's magazines operate. Get over it. We've all had it happen. We've all been screwed. So if a MB gave the name of some poster and screwed them over, oh fucking well! If it was you, make sure it doesn't happen again. I am long past being bothered by the things I can not control. You might want to give that a whirl. For your own sanity. |

Did these party-goers mention how the MB moles even retrieved info about these posters' identities, since when we post here the only personal info we give is an email address, and the only thing else they'd know is our IP address, which is not really associated with an individual person? |

| writesonwater | Posted – 2/2/2008 7:26:41 AM | show profile It could be noted that while MB staffers are not likely to dish on the real who's who, posters here leave their petards all over so the hoisting is easily done. For example, most employers have no compunction about tracking their employees keystrokes and websites visited. That means if someone JUST poked their head in the door with a juicy tidbit, it could easily be a setup if they wanted to axe you to leave because you've been playing on the internet at work. Additionally, while there are thousands of publications represented here, at how many of those at precisely that time on that day did a senior editor pop her head in ANY door to announce that she was having a breakdown and to hold down the fort while she went to a recovery spa??? |
