Who is the biggest pervert you know? I've known a few guys who were pretty twisted. 3. Have you ever had to make someone's funeral arrangements? No. 4. Have you ever lived through a tornado, earthquake, hurricane, flood or other natural disaster? Nope, nope, yup, yup, and a few blizzards and ice storms. No volcanic eruptions though. 5. Do you know any true psychopaths or sociopaths? I've been acquainted with a few but stay far, far away. 6. What lie do you continue to perpetuate? That, with a bit more effort, I can truly be James Bond. 7. Have you ever walked in your sleep? Talked, yes. Walked, no. My twin brothers were big sleepwalkers though. 8. Has there ever been a period in your life when you thought you were truly losing your mind? Not really. 2. Who is the biggest pervert you know? A few come to mind but a boss at a bar sticks out. 3. Have you ever had to make someone?s funeral arrangements? Helped but thankfully not made. 4. Have you ever lived through a tornado, earthquake, hurricane, flood or other natural disaster? Yes, no, yes, no. For me, the hurricane was the worst. Not because of the physical damage, but because everyone worried about it for weeks in advance. I prefer crazy snowstorms as the best of all natural disasters. 5. Do you know any true psychopaths or sociopaths? I dont think so ... 6. What lie do you continue to perpetuate? Um, that I am not ready to be married etc. That I really never want a stable job. Or are those real .... hmmm. 7. Have you ever walked in your sleep? Negative. 8. What are some of the deviant aspects of your personality? I am sugary sweet even though inside I am boiling. It usually puts in a great vantage point with offending person. 9. But I didn't think I was, I knew I was and I'll always be thankful to the people that got me though it. 2. Who is the biggest pervert you know? My brother's best friend who I refuse to be in the same room with. 3. Have you ever had to make someone?s funeral arrangements? No, thank god. 4. She tore though our family like a hurricane (can that count as a natural disaster?) for years. I'm so glad she's no longer in our lives! 6. What lie do you continue to perpetuate? I don't need help. 7. Have you ever walked in your sleep? No, but I've seen other people do it. 8. What are some of the deviant aspects of your personality? I do whatever it takes to get what I want and there's very few people I won't take down if they're in my way. 9. Have you ever been falsely accused of anything? Yes, someone I didn't like at my former job accused me of having sex with another employee in the break room. Something I would never do. I quit when they tried to accuse me cause I didn't want to work with people that would lie like that. 10. Do you know anyone that is undeniably ugly? Yes, although I feel bad admitting it. One of my sister's friends swears she's the best looking girl around but in all honesty, she's truly the ugliest, both inside and out. ~Bonus Question~ Do you have any pet names for specific body parts? I had a massive class load, was doing an internship, not sleeping, and working nights. But, I think it had to do w/ the birth control I was using at the time, b/c after I changed methods, I stopped acting like a nut job and just dealt w/ it all. 2. Who is the biggest pervert you know? The husband. 3. Have you ever had to make someone?s funeral arrangements? Yes, my dad's, 11 years ago. 4. Have you ever lived through a tornado, earthquake, hurricane, flood or other natural disaster? A hurricane twice in the NE as a kid, A tornado in florida, many earthquakes while in CA, a flood in N. CA just a couple of years ago. I never did get used to those damn earthquakes. Even the little ones were pretty unsettling. You just never knew when one would hit, and how strong it would be. 5. Do you know any true psychopaths or sociopaths? I swear that a kid who followed my oldest son around was one. He displayed many of the classic traits of a sociopath, and the mother got really nasty w/ me when I kept declining invitations to go over there and play. I'll bet that kid will have some heads in freezers in his adulthood. 6. What lie do you continue to perpetuate? that I'm still young, and fabulously skinny. It's only in my head, though. 7. Have you ever walked in your sleep? I did from the age of 10 to 13 quite a bit. It freaked my parents out, b/c I would be wide awake, walking around, doing random things in the middle of the night and it would take them awhile to figure out that I was asleep. It stopped right at 13. 8. What are some of the deviant aspects of your personality? Deviant....hmmm........I like burlesque shows. Is that deviant? 9. Have you ever been falsely accused of anything? The husband often thinks I've put things in places I shouldn't have or didn't pay this bill or do that. He's always pointing fingers, and more often than not, it's he who has been not holding up his end of the rope. 10. Do you know anyone that is undeniably ugly? Physical attractiveness gets trumped by a good heart and a great personality, I think. Some of the most physically attractive people I know are so stupid, self-centered and mean inside that they just look hideous to me, while some fairly homely people I know are so witty, fun and good hearted I could never consider them ugly. |

One night, late at night, there was a pretty fierce one, and I woke to find my dad standing over my bed. However, I thought he was the one doing the shaking, so I said, "do it again, daddy!" 5. Do you know any true psychopaths or sociopaths? An ex girlfriend of an ex boyfriend (not me), and I'm not saying that simply because she dated my ex. 6. What lie do you continue to perpetuate? I keep telling people I'm 5'2, which is an exaggeration of my real height. And I'm in denial that I work as a receptionist. And that I've been looking for a job in publishing for two years, almost. 7. Have you ever walked in your sleep? Yes, when I was little I woke up and found that I'd sleepwalked into a closet in the front hall of our apartment. 8. What are some of the deviant aspects of your personality? I suffer from depression and social anxiety. 9. Have you ever been falsely accused of anything? Vandalism; plagiarism. The last is an interesting story: in April of 11th grade I turned in a paper that was unquestionably horrible. The teacher was notorious about grading papers in a time. In May, after we'd all taken our exams and gone home, the teacher attended a seminar on plagiarism. H ewent and sat down to grade papers and voila! he thought he saw plagiarism in the paper I wrote. They couldn't prove that I plagiarized anything, though. And the sad part of it is that the teacher never apologized and couldn't even look me in the eye whenever I ran into him. 10. And I think my ex started to try and gaslight me, but chickened out. 2. Who is the biggest pervert you know? -- it's got to be my ex. 3. But had a bad drug experience at around age 20 where my brain was being sucked into a mirror and down the rabbit hole. Lesson learned: drugs are bad for your health and strictly for goons. 2. No. 5. Do you know any true psychopaths or sociopaths? I met a con-man in Ireland who wasn't violent but struck me as a sociopath who found it impossible not to constantly tell lies. 6. Have you ever been falsely accused of anything? Yes. As a freshman in high school in music class I was accused of stealing money from a girl's purse. Not only accused but they called my mother at work and told her I stole it (which I didn't) and her reaction was to...well, it's too cruel to write here. But I get filled with rage just thinking about it. Gives me a small sense of what if must feel like to be jailed for a crime a person didn't commit. I'd like to find that music teacher and hang him upside down by his balls and beat him with a baseball bat until he bleeds out of his eyes. But I think I'll just take a deep breath instead. 10. Why are you all pointing your fingers at me? 3. Have you ever had to make someone?s funeral arrangements? Yeah, my dad's, about a year ago. Too weird. The funeral director asked my if I wanted a bagpiper or a dove released at the burial. He then took into the show room where he suggested a casket that sort of looked like my honda accord. Same turtle wax finish. Then he suggested the burial vault with the watertight seal that doesn't get flooded inside. Too weird. They also offered to send out a bugle player with an automated bugle since he was a veteran. We just opted for the basic embalming and 1 viewing and a simple service. Even without all that extra stuff you wouldn't believe the bill. 4. Have you ever lived through a tornado, earthquake, hurricane, flood or other natural disaster? Minor hurricanes in New Jersey. Once growing up in the midwest had to go to the basement when a nearby tornado was announced, but it didn't touch ground or come anywhere near us. 5. Do you know any true psychopaths or sociopaths? Sometimes during the bleakest moments of depression I have thought I was going insane. Fortunately this was only temporary. Also when I have had panic attacks I thought I was slipping down the hole into madness. 2. Who is the biggest pervert you know? Several former male bosses. Sometimes I think I'm a pervert although only in my head. I'd probably be a good erotica writer. 3. Have you ever had to make someone's funeral arrangements? No. 4. We keep waiting for the big one to hit because we are long overdue. 5. Do you know any true psychopaths or sociopaths? My brother-in-law is a text book case--right down to killing animals as a child. I have these dreams where I am swallowing keys and buttons and I wake up spitting on the floor. My dogs have learned not to sleep on the floor on my side of the bed. 8. What are some of the deviant aspects of your personality? Even though I would never do it, sometimes when I see a baby I want to smack it. When I see a man with a fat rump, I want to bite it. In eighth grade a girl was busted at school for selling speed. Somehow I was fingered as the snitch and had the entire school looking to kick my ass. I had to hide out in the nurses office to avoid being beat up. I was just really coming into my own, I guess, but I questioned a lot of things that the people around me weren't questioning, and I felt like an outsider. My roommate thought I'd completely lost it. But I was fine. And ten years later, she and I are still great friends. 2. Who is the biggest pervert you know? I don't know him personally, but Jack Nicholson comes to mind whenever I think of perverts. He's gross when it comes to women. 3. Have you ever had to make someone's funeral arrangements? Not yet, thank God. 4. Have you ever lived through a tornado, earthquake, hurricane, flood or other natural disaster? Was in a very, very, teeny tiny earthquake once. I slept right through it. What lie do you continue to perpetuate? That I'm really as "together" as I appear. It's an assumption people have about me because I make a fantastic first impression. I just let them run with it. 7. It explains a lot. 9. Have you ever been falsely accused of anything? Yes. When I was eight, my stepdad accused me of messing with his stereo after he'd forbidden me from going near it. I never touched it. Not even once. He swore I did. I got in big trouble despite my protesting. I've never forgotten this. It's one of the only times in my life that I've been 100% blameless for something and still faced the consequences of having done it. 10. Do you know anyone that is undeniably ugly? Yes, this guy I went to college with is physically unattractive in every way imaginable. And he has the nerve to be a jerk, too. Ethically, a former boss who spent his days freelancing for our magazine's direct competitor while sucking up $150k a year as publisher. 3. Thankfully, not yet. 4. I was on one of the last flights out of Venezuela during their landslides. Terrifying. 5. Sadly, yes. I discuss him and his criminal behavior in my book and in a few articles I've written about him. The cops shrug, the DA laughs and he deceives, terrorizes and victimizes women. 6. That my family cares about one another. 7. Not that I know of. 8. Define deviant. 9. Yes. 10. Anyone who gets off on humiliating others qualifies. Also, deeply unethical people who prosper and thrive. BQ: No. |

Who is the biggest pervert you know? I'm stumped. 3. Have you ever had to make someone's funeral arrangements? Twice. Six days apart. My grandmother died and my father and I made the arrangements. While talking with the funeral director about my grandmother's plans, my father described what he wanted. Sadly, he died suddenly six days later. If there was any good news, at least I feel comforted in knowing I fulfilled his wishes. 4. Have you ever lived through a tornado, earthquake, hurricane, flood or other natural disaster? Thankfully the boiler survived the flood. My shoulder, on the other hand, needed surgery afterwards. 5. Do you know any true psychopaths or sociopaths? This kid that grew up in our neighborhood. Has there ever been a period in your life when you thought you were truly losing your mind? once at the end of senior year of college, when i was not only totally thrown by graduation but also in the midst of a terrible breakup. i totally retreated into myself. and once years later when i had a super-bad virus and just felt, mentally and physically, like another person for a few days. scary. 2. Who is the biggest pervert you know? two guys i can think of--both of whom tried to tell me i was into (two different) things when really that's what *they* were into. i assume they do that with all the girls. nice try, guys, but you've got to claim your perversions as your own. 3. Do you know any true psychopaths or sociopaths? they're not in my life, but i have encountered some who've tried to get into my confidence. i'm glad my teflon shell seems to be strengthening in that regard, as time passes. 6. What lie do you continue to perpetuate? my boyfriend would say my belief that my vote matters--and that it makes a difference which candidate wins--is a lie. 7. Have you ever walked in your sleep? nope. i don't think i do much other than snore. 8. What are some of the deviant aspects of your personality? i will think about this.... 9. Have you ever been falsely accused of anything? yes. and not even to my face. i didn't find out until years later that my friend's (ex) girlfriend thought i'd been "going after" him while they were together. 10. Do you know anyone that is undeniably ugly? ugly is as ugly does. you can see ugliness in the eyes of "beautiful" people who've lost their soul. ~Bonus Question~ Do you have any pet names for specific body parts? never have. |

Sort of -- post-partum depression with my first child was not fun. 2. Who is the biggest pervert you know? One or two sleazy guys I've come in contact with in a 20-year journalism career. 3. Have you ever had to make someone?s funeral arrangements? Sort of. Two years after his death, my sister and I took our dad's ashes to a river by a salmon hatchery and scattered them. It was touching. 4. Have you ever lived through a tornado, earthquake, hurricane, flood or other natural disaster? yes but not a direct hit, although we sustained some damage; yes, small ones; yes, no. 5. Do you know any true psychopaths or sociopaths? I'm afraid to say I do. A male relative by marriage only is very dangerous; I've also met a few scary people through my work. 6. What lie do you continue to perpetuate? that I can't do some things I should do. 7. Have you ever walked in your sleep? I'm hoping my son has finally grown out of his adolescent sleepwalking -- some has been scary (leaving the house for a busy street, appearing to pick up an imaginary weapon of some sort and beat on the sofa with it) 8. What are some of the deviant aspects of your personality? I know communication is important, but sometimes I spend money when I shouldn't and then I hate to admit to it. Creepy, I know. 9. Have you ever been falsely accused of anything? Yes indeed. Painful. I've gotten a thicker skin than I had back then. 10. Do you know anyone that is undeniably ugly? I'd say yes, but I think everyone has the capacity to have something/some feature that redeems them in someone's eyes. Bonus: No, but I recently someone refer to their breasts as "the girls" and I think that's quite sweet, in light of breast health/mammograms/taking care of "the girls." |
