I noticed that there are posts and threads about this every year, but I was just wondering if anyone applied for the Time summer internship this year, and if there's been any word. It seems (according to previous posts) that the final decisions arrive at the last possible second, but it would just be great to know if anyone else out there is waiting with me.

I also applied and am waiting on a decision. Last month, I received an email saying that they were currently evaluating applications for semi-finals, and that final decisions would be made by March.

Good luck! :)

Hey! I was going to post something on this also... It's my first year applying. I got an email the first week of January saying that my application had made it to the final round of the process... but i'm sure a lot of them do. Again, 'final selections will be made my March'. I am so nervous!!

I applied too and got the same email in early January saying my app had made it to the final round, then at the end of the month I got an email saying I'd been selected for the summer. I did the program last year too, but then didn't get my acceptance until mid-March.

They said I was selected by two magazines, so between the two of them, I decided to go with Essence. I was at People last summer.

quirkers224, I thought the program was for rising seniors only--how were you able to get in two summers in a row?

The program is also open to graduate students, and I indicated on my application that I'm in the midst of applying to several one-year graduate journalism programs, so I think that might be how I got by. I also called the people at HR to make sure it was alright, and they said it was. There were a few repeat-interns last summer too (some not headed to grad school), one of whom went on to get hired at the end of the summer. So it looks like it's not a hard and fast rule that people have to be rising college seniors.

thanks for the reply! do you think all the notifications have been sent out yet, or just those of repeat interns?

I'm not sure ... my guess is that they notified all the people selected (because the email said how many people were chosen) and that if those people don't accept the offer, then they'll start notifying the next people down the list, because I had to accept or decline within a week of getting the email. I could be completely wrong though ... I dunno. Good luck, in any event! :)

Out of curiosity, how many were chosen?

Also -- did anyone also apply to the programs at ASME or Conde Nast?

They chose 47, out of around 600.

has anyone else heard back? i also received the e-mail saying my application was moved to the final round, but have heard nothing else. i'm assuming that if someone was already notified, i didn't get it. i'm very curious -- any word?

A recruiter at a career fair a few weeks ago told me all the acceptances had already been sent out, and that they had a major increase in applicants this year because it was the first time people could apply online.
