it's just too easy -- it's not even fun! That's why we get paid the small bucks, to hopefully avoid the majority of this stuff.

When you're not working in journalism, you're regularly "moving forward," "getting on the same page," talking about things "offline," and all the rest. During a break from journalism I experienced this.

I admit it, i look down on the drones who don't even know how inane they're being, even if they do make triple what i do!

Astera--the other appalling take on that is "right-sourcing", instead of "outsourcing", as if they really aren't shipping your jobs overseas.

Yam, next time someone says "Ping me" in person, walk up to them, stare at them intently, and with your index finger, go "PING!" right on their forehead. Bet they won't say that again.

And I think the next time "paradigm" rears its ugly head, it should be beaten senseless with a baseball bat. (The word, not the speaker, no matter the temptation.)

Ha! Mag and keltoi on paradigm. These users seem to have no idea how dated it makes them look -- it's the verbal equivalent of showing up to a business meeting in a plaid poly stretch suit.

this is rich
Referring to presentations as "decks"...

"Utilize" literally makes my blood boil

"Orientate" is like fingernails on a chalkboard

Keltoi, that is a fantastic idea for a response to "ping me." I get the giggles just thinking about flicking a VC or CEO on the forehead and being able to claim innocence. They're always so composed and slick--it would be nice to catch them off guard.

if I can widen this laught to phrases ... my kids (and I) make fun of our husband/dad who several times a day says :"Let's get all the ducks in a row ... and tee it up"

How about "think outside the box." And everything in biz is "key." Makes me want to hurl!

"downstream" in any reference outside of the world of the petrochemicals industry.

It's funny...I hear people talk about "high-level" concepts all the time, but there never seems to be a "low level." How can you have the high without the low?
