| StillLearning | Posted 2/10/2008 12:33:40 AM | show profile I think I heard that they just laid off like 200 people in the higher ed division ... maybe not the best time. |

| Suet | Posted 2/11/2008 11:40:58 AM | show profile I get several notices a week from McGraw-Hill about jobs there. Most of them are for positions that would not be appropriate for me. It's a poor use of automated technology - it would be so much better if they would have a human look at my resume and keep me in mind when something that might fit comes up. As is, it causes me to have an unfavorable view of a company that is supposedly technologically advanced. |
| Jill of all trades | Posted 2/11/2008 12:31:37 PM | show profile Their job application site isn't great, nor are most of their non client-facing applications. But it's a decent company, and I bet there's some work at Glencoe-- it's a different market from higher ed. Most McGraw-Hill email addresses are firstname_lastname@mcgraw.hill.com. Hope this is slightly helpful. |
| nandy | Posted 2/11/2008 5:15:00 PM | show profile StillLearning - I was told that most of the positions that were vacated were Term of Project, so no real big deal layoffs. The number was to appease investors. |
