Topic: Freelance editing contracts- negotiations-rip offs

I just started a freelance job copyediting and typing a book- It wasnt well written and I have started editing it as well. I printed a internet editorial contract- ( best I could do, short notice) and signed their non-disclosure agreement. I requested cash, received has cash and received a check that they voided. I haven't give them any work yet- and they are in contact but, Im considering just walking away. I would really appreciate any input- I like this work, Is there a good way to handle such situations- I feel rather foolish for having signed the non- disclosure etc-- Thanks very much- |
