An Inconvenient Truth...
What Wolf and most liberals forget is that the claims of both the Willie Horton ad and the Swift Boat ads were true.

Were they "harsh"? Yes.
Were they "mud-slinging"? Probably.
Were they "accurate"? Absolutely.

As governor of Massachusetts, Michael Dukakis began and allowed the program that allowed violent felons "furloughs" that allowed the most dangerous inmates back into society for mini-vacations in order to help relieve over-crowding.

And yes- it was Al Gore (in the primary process) that first raised the issue of Willie Horton against Dukakis.

And the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth were a group of men who actually served with and knew John Kerry. They disputed his claims of "heroism" and called upon him to release his military records (which he has NOT YET DONE). They also didn't care for the way he slandered members of all services with his factually-challenged testimony before congress with certain peace-groups.

Of course, these examples stand in stark contrast with the Texas NAACP radio ads of 2000 that claimed if Bush was elected, black churches would burn.

It won't work. This is one savy guy who knows better than let this stuff linger like Kerry. He'll be out front quicker than a Roger Clemons brush back.
