I have fact-checked before for publications, but as an intern or for school/ in-house magazines and newsletters. I don't think this qualifies as experience. So I was thinking of maybe taking one of the classes to help find work in this field ( I'm a journalism graduated with no job, like most of us at this forum). Has anyone here ever taken a mediabistro.com course and gotten a job from it. Or are these courses preying on our desperation for employment just to take our money and not teach us anything on getting a job in the subject the class is on? Any information is greatly appreciated! |

Have you tried to get FC jobs and been rejected? If so, perhaps adding a little heft to your resume wouldn't hurt. But if you haven't put yourself out there too much yet I would say work with what you've got. It sounds like you have at experience with at least three different pubs, so play that up. |
