GalleyCat recently interviewed Sarah Boxer about her Utimate Blogs anthology, which compiles posts from 27 of her favorite websites. If you were putting together a similar collection, what would you include, and what makes them so ultimate?

(You don't have to come up with 27. Really, five is plenty, and even just one would be great.)

There are blogs for entertainment (e.g., your cat discovers Kaballah) and there are blogs for information. Try the blog on www.ctpressclub.com. The comments are limited to things that can help writers hone their skills or sell more books.

anything with cute. cuteoverload.com, the catmacros comm on livejournal, and very especially http://www.kittyhell.com/, where a poor husband with a Hello Kitty-obsessed wife writes about the far-reaching world of Hello Kitty products.

I also really love the crazy news story aggregators, like http://forteantimes.com/blogs/editorial-blogs/news/, obscurestore.com and fark.com

I have no favorite individual posts from any of these, except maybe the hamster with the kernel of corn.

My Favorite Blog (actually, it's a Grog)
I visit The Debutante Ball (http://www.thedebutanteball.com) daily - yes, you could call me a groupie. Every day, one of the five "Debutantes" (read: debut authors, each with a book coming out in 2008) blogs on a chosen theme or topic. They also have great guest bloggers like *eh hem* John Grisham, Meg Cabot and Jodi Picoult among others. What more could one ask for in a blog?
