They seem like a useful org., but their dues are quite high, so I wanted to get some feedback on usefulness in terms of education, networking, and of course, freelance jobs. Thank you! |

And, yes, the seminars etc. are good, but I'm not sure you have to join to attend one -- just pay a higher tuition or attendance fee. I got my current job through the IABC job board. (But I didn't apply online -- sent a snail mail resume and clips.) |

Regular networking, volunteering on committees, etc. will help you build relationships and may lead to freelance work or a job. If you're not going to be part of a chapter, then the previous poster is correct. You can get much of the benefit without joining. |
