Quick question: when e-mailing resumes in applying for jobs, what's the best thing to put in the subject line?

If you are applying for a specific position:
(Insert job opening title) - Resume attached

If you are doing a cold resume:
Career Opportunities with (insert company) - Resume attached

Look in the posting to see if there are certain things they want in the subject line. Sometimes they discard ones where the applicant didn't follow directions.

Good luck!

Whatever you do, don't attach your cover letter! It won't be read. The recruiter will just open your resume, maybe.

Write your cover letter in the body of the email. Keep it short and sweet and focused on how you are qualified for the job so that they will immediately open your resume!

Good luck,
Pam
