Hi,

I was wondering if using a post office box is bad for business?

I'm just starting to get busy, and have several people at my residence and want to keep my business mail seperate.

Does it look bad on your cover letters if you have a po box?

If you don't want a P.O. Box as part of your address, try opening a box at Mail Boxes, Etc. or the UPS Store, both of which use an actual street address. I did that when I moved so that it appeared that I had a local address.

I use a P.O. box because there's no U.S. Postal Service delivery to homes in my town. Everyone here has to have a P.O. box to get mail.

I had a P.O. box at my previous address while building my business almost to six figures (I really don't *want* a six-figure income). I sincerely doubt that using a P.O. box was bad for business.

Come to think of it, the mailbox was so small at my apartment in the Bay Area that the Postal Service wouldn't leave more than one letter at a time in it, so I had to get a P.O. box there, too.

Honestly, having a P.O. box doesn't make anyone automatically assume you're running a coupon-redemption center or you're homeless. The biggest businesses in the country all use them for correspondence.

UPS
If you go to a UPS store and rent a box there instead of the PO, your address will look like a street address...
