Am I having a serious brain freeze, or has this already been used at a book/movie plot?

Basic premise: friends honor a deceased loved one's request to travel with their cremated remains.

Any author's have suggestions on researching already-used plots before digging into writing it yourself?

That's the plot of the movie Bonneville, out right now.

Broken down that simply, many plots have been told over and over. Never a bad idea to take a fresh look at something, especially if you did come up with it on your own.
