Topic: Any Awards for Nonprofit Newsletters?

| megmuck | Posted 3/2/2008 3:02:12 PM | show profile Hi folks - I edit a newsletter for a local environmental nonprofit. The newsletter gets a lot of praise for its content, and one of the nonprofit's board members asks me periodically if there's some sort of award or contest for newsletters that the organization could enter. I've poked around the web and in grant listings a bit, and all I've found is the Utne Reader's annual newsletter awards. Is there something I'm missing? Thank you, m. |

Try Googling "environmental associations" since the field you're working in is the environmental industry. I would think that there are organizations/associations, which your nonprofit can join and these associations usually hold contests. I was writing for a school several years ago and we entered and were recognized by the New York School Public Relations Association. If I remember correctly, they judged on design, writing, editing, content and consistency. Of course your nonprofit will have to become a member but it would be worth it --- plus you'd probably get all sorts of industry news tidbits as I would think that they send members monthly magazines. |

When I did school PR, I was member of the state school PR association, which was a chapter of the national group. There were annual state awards. |
