| frontmatter | Posted 3/6/2008 1:38:10 PM | show profile | email poster There's a position on the mb job boards that I'm going to apply for, and salary is listed as "under $45,000." I'm not familiar with the salary bracket options that MediaBistro provides to employers posting jobs, so I'm curious: what kind of salary is the employer really hinting at with a description like that? Under 30k? 30k-35k? 35k-40k? 40k-44k? Etc. The employer is requesting salary requirements, and I just want to do my best to avoid over- or undervaluing myself. |

However, I would look at it this way: this employer placed an ad in hopes of attracting candidates, so I think it's reasonable to assume that they're offering a salary right around this figure, and not too much lower. Probably 40K-44K. I don't think any reputable employer would post "under $45K" when the actual salary offered was $25K! |
