| megan11 | Posted – 3/9/2008 1:00:20 AM | show profile | email poster i'm working on a master's in writing and would like to find an internship or preferably a part-time job (money is always nice). my problems are these: 1) i don't know exactly what i do want to do other than write, but i do know i don't want to work at a newspaper 2) i live in stupid nashville - not exactly a wonderland of opportunity 3) i don't really know that much about the small writing community that does exist here or really even where to find it. i need some experience and the ever valuable networking. now, before you tell me, yes, i know, i'm sure my school would have some great resources for me - if i could get the person who handles internships to actual return an email or phone call. alright, any and all helpful thoughts would be much appreciated. thanks. |

There are tons of freelance opportunities. Also, I just heard about a job in Franklin that I won't take because it's on-site. It's writing web articles for Magazines.com. I know Lebanon is hiring a reporter now, but it's a hellhole, I only stayed four months. I am now a full-time freelancer.
