Hello,

I'm interested in finding trade magazines in the areas of natural health/organics/green and sustainable living. So far, I haven't had much luck. I've done internet searches and checked my faithful Writer's Market without very much success.

I keep reading how there are thousands of trade publications out there and wonder if I should be looking in some other places.

Anyone have ideas?

Thanks,
-Joy

Green Products and Technology
Launched in January. It's put out by Hanley-Wood. There's also a website, greenproductsandtechnology.com

(Your post has been on my mind; just ran across this while doing an unrelated web search.)

It depends on what parts of sustainable living you're after as well- saving energy, natural finishes, alternative fuels? And are you looking to pitch articles to these? THat might help me in giving some suggestions, as some I know of aren't really open to freelancers. I've enabled e-mail if you want to e-mail me directly.

natural health magazines
Just go to your local health food stores. They have several of these magazines.

Thanks!
Great--thanks for the ideas and suggestions. To be more specific in regards to someone's question (sorry, I can't see the responses as I'm typing my reply!) . . . I'm mostly interested in writing for publications like E, Mother Earth News, Natural Solutions, Grit, things along those lines. I'm not super science-y so I don't think I'd do so well with the more technical mags in these areas (Me, explain solar power generators? Don't think so!)

I will check out the links you all posted--thanks!

Trade is business to business
I thought you wanted trade, or business to business magazines. One other is Green Home Builder Magazine, greenhomebuildermag.com It is directed towards builders.

I believe that a more popular interior design magazine for the general public would be Natural Home. Nonetheless, magazines such as Domino and even Town and Country have had "green" issues.
