I'm in an interesting situation.

I graduated last year with a degree in visual communications, but also with a lot of friends majoring in journalism. During and immediately after college, a couple of these friends were marketing themselves through a blog where they recapped episodes of reality shows and nighttime dramas. Just to fill out the material, I regularly covered two shows for about a year.

Now that we have graduated, they were able to recruit a better replacement for me; however, I just got a message out of nowhere from my friend that someone read and enjoyed some of my old entries and wanted to know if I could blog for them. They would like to know how much I charge.

While I did enjoy the blog and would have no problem trading a couple of hours per week for a little cash, I have no other experience in journalism outside of two fairly basic classes (a fact that I'm not going to hide once I get back to this person). I also have zero freelancing experience in any field, which means that I don't have the start of a clue of what I am supposed to charge for this, or any legal steps that I should think of taking before agreeing to anything. My past blog entries were all around 700 words, which is what I'm thinking they're expecting of me.

Thanks for any help that you might be able to offer.
