I am looking into getting a MFA in Advertising & Design but I want to know if it's worth the money. I would like to advance my graphic design career into more creative role such as art or creative direction or an advertising manager position but my long term goal is to teach at the university level. Any advice from seasoned advertising professionals??

Well, if your long-term goal is to teach, you definitely need your masters degree to make that happen. However, if you're just looking to advance your design career, you should probably save your money.

I've been in the business 15+ years, and I can't really say that those designers with an MFA advance any quicker or further than those with just an undergraduate degree. While getting an advanced design degree may be an enriching and valuable experience for you personally, there reaches a point in a design career where employers care more about your job and management experience than what degree you may have.
