This is from a post on MB's job board today:

To be considered for the position, please fax a HANDWRITTEN cover letter with resume to Hiring Manager at [redacted] and indicate salary requirements.

Um...WTF? Are candidates being subjected to handwriting analysis or something?

Bizarre. Who even uses a fax anymore?

I agree - who uses a fax anymore?? Seems like it comes from the same period as when the wheel was invented. ;-)

Many companies use handwriting analysis for prospective employees, you just don't hear a lot about it.

I do know a woman who runs a nonprofit and she will only accept resumes via fax and snail mail. She feels that since the process is harder, she gets only the people who truly want to work there and that it cuts down on the ones who mass email to every posting. She feels it works for her small staff since they don't have to deal with a huge volume of responses and they feel they still get talented people.

Maybe they do a handwriting analysis on every candidate.
