I am moving to NYC in august (maybe earlier if i find a place) and have been looking into housing options. I will be doing my student teaching at a school on the lower east side and then hopefully will be able to start a full time teaching job in January. I figured the best thing to do during student teaching is apply for womens housing because it is fully furnished and temp. However, after looking into the different options that there are for womens housing in the city i have decided that for the amount of money i will be paying it would be best to find an apt. that i could sublease. The problem is finding an apt. that is fully furnished and in a good area. Any suggestions. I'm getting a little stressed out and don't really want to settle for living in a tiny room thats worse then a dorm.
Please help!

Women's housing sounds like a good idea while you are student teaching. It has to be cheaper than subletting
and most women's housing includes two meals. You need
to be realistic. Housing in NYC is expensive and many
people, myself included, live in small apts. Maybe once
you get here, you will meet some at the job who needs
a roommate. And I think you'd have to be here to get
a sublet. Most people want to meet the person.
