I have a pretty interesting story on a world-renowned plastic surgeon based in NYC who is disfiguring people from all over the country. The authorities, the local plastic surgery community and a major network are covering this up.

I think this sounds like a New Yorker story. Does anyone have any better ideas for submitting a pitch or query letter?

Thanks.

The New Yorker is almost impossible to break into
unless you are a well-known writer and it does not
sound like the kind of pieces they tend to run. The
Village Voice tends to do investigative pieces but they will want to make sure you have the chops to deliver. It also
sounds like this story could be legally volatile. Have
you considered that?
