I'm working on an article for a nat. women's magazine about the person or thing that saved your life, or turned it around. I'm looking for "real women" here and also high profile women, like celebrity athletes, business people and stars in their 20s, 30s, and 40s.

I'm looking for earnest as well as fun, offbeat things, too.

If you're interested in participating, please shoot me an email. I can send more details Deadline: 4/2.

THANK YOU!

there was a book full of two to three page "essays" from exactly those type of people printed several years ago. You may wish to look it over as it was done extremely well (and avoid repeats perhaps).
You did not mention the word count, and what exactly are "real women?" - just unclear on that.

Woman's colleges that profile their "best successes" would be a good source to start with or with their alumnae association!! I found out to my great surprise several colleagues have been - thank goodness!!- very successful!!

It would be great to post the word count desired and where to send.

Hi Daisy,
Dog power. It's my dogs in my life that have always gotten me through during the best and worst of times. These days, I have two beautiful Brittanys...Anyone, especially authors--dogs and cats are the best companion animal one could ask for.

Scotch. I mean, it turned my life around in the wrong direction, but it definitely turned things around. Often turned them upside-down too, come to think of it...
