Topic: Conflict of Interest Questions about Freelancing

| allenwhit | Posted – 4/6/2008 11:54:14 PM | show profile So full time job is out of journalism (textbook publishing), real job ;) is freelance assignments here and there, regional mags, mostly, environmental stuff, some defense, some travel...real infrequent, but of course want to get more assignments...anyway, question is about my day job conflicting with interests as a journo, also am I less legit as a journo b.c i do it infrequently? hopefully I'm not naive here in terms of ethics... if I can;t land full time journo gig, I'd like to work for environmental agency (probably non profit, Woods Hole, Aquarium, etc) but maybe gov't) in communciations/ development/ marketing...how about then? Asthma keeps me out of the Coast Guard and the US Army, bad math skills keep me out of becoming a marine biologist, the fact that being a lawyer is boring keeps me out of law school, the fact that business sucks keeps me from making any money, so its journalism or activism help |
