Has anyone heard back yet? Do they send rejection letters as well as acceptance? Does anyone have any feedback about the program, did it help you get a job? Any info much appreciated!!

no news yet!
I've heard they don't let out the list till the 2nd week of April.
I'm quite anxious 'cause I have visa issues to deal with too.
Good luck to you. which one do you favour though? the CPC or the NYU?

regd jobs
From what I've gathered from former course alumni, the courses give you a thorough overview of the industry. I think they have career fairs and great networks you can tap into, but whether it's the CPC, Denver prgm or the NYU one, clinching a job is based on what you want and more importantly how you utilise the resources at hand.
I think this holds good in any field -whether it's publishing or a post MBA job.
Don't worry so much. Do the course and explore your networks there. Hopefully we'll be classmates!

Haven't heard from Columbia yet, but I did just get accepted to Denver about 4 hours ago via email, so apparently they've started the ball rolling.

I heard back yesterday, same time as I heard back from Denver. I am not sure, but it may be because I emailed them earlier in the day bugging them because I was accepted to NYU's SPI last week and *their* program isn't a guaranteed in (or so the paperwork specifies it is first-come-first-serve, so they must overenroll) and I told Columbia I was under pressure.

I got in! and am definitely picking Columbia!

rejections? acceptance?
Hi, anybody heard from CPC? Has anybody been rejected or accepted yet thru email?

Apart from those who emailed the CPC to know, did CPC email anybody yet? THANKS!

just bumping this up...
Susan Caplan of the CPC said they already sent out the admission decisions yesterday. although if you need to know sooner re your status, all you have to do is email her.
to those who got in, congratulations! i'm keeping my fingers crossed for the rest of us

I haven't received anything from the CPC. Since May 1 is creeping closer, I'm just taking that as a "sorry."

I was accepted via email on April 8. My hardcopy acceptance came a week ago. Good luck to everyone!

yep.
Was accepted - got email shortly before April 10 and hard copy around five days later. Good luck, good luck to all of us. I'm actually pretty nervous now.

If you are looking to break into book publishing, the Columbia Publishing Course is an excellent way to do it. If you have already had some internships or media experience, this really helps, because you will be applying for many of the same jobs as your classmates in August after graduation. If you don't have much experience, the course can help you get an incredible internship or temp job and then you can land a dream job from there. If I hadn't done the course I don't think i would have the job i have now, because I was really able to get in touch with the HR department more directly. Plus, many English majors just think of editorial when they decide they want to go into book publishing. The course helps you realize that there are MANY different areas - publicity, sales, marketing, international sales, academic marketing, managing editorial, production, design, and of course editorial. good luck!
