I've been reading SELF and SHAPE for a few years studying the SELF Expression column and Real Lives column in each magazine. I've been trying to crack it, but all my submissions have been met with rejections, though the editors were nice and encouraged me to continue pitching essays. Has anyone had any luck or know anyone who has?
