What does everyone think about this? I, for one, feel that once the hype dies down, and publications stop interviewing him about his wayward ways, he'll find himself with nary a substantive job offer.

I wouldn't employ him to be the town dogcatcher -- a guy who cheats his client, cheats his client's readers, then writes a book about how he cheated. In fact, I'll bet the new book is filled with BS, too. I'll bet the tale he told the NYT a couple of years ago was BS.

I think the guy's an egotistical idiot.

He taught for Media Bistro, too.

Yeah, he's an effin' clod!
I had the unfortune to be in one of Thomas's Mediabistro classes last spring in Seattle. All he did was talk with a very monotone voice and the copies of material he handed out to us was full of typos! Unreal! Oh, and I forget to mention....anybody who thinks teaching a Mediabistro class means reading the typo-laden material in a monotone voice does the trick is sorely mistaken. I wrote a very bitchy letter demanding my money back and after several people did the same, we actually got refunded, which is apparently against MB policy. This guy is an ass!
