Unbelievable. I guess us West Coast elites aren't worth the trouble. ABC is going to start the Clinton-Obama debate an hour and a half after cable news starts disecting it. What's the point of a major network taking it on if they're not going to show it? Disgusting.

he bogart-y assholes at ABC are telling other media outlets that their Democratic presidential debate tonight is their property ? and if you want to reference it, you must do so in 30-seconds. The inane policy is the Disney network?s attempt to commoditize their coverage, which should be a forum for advancing the political discussion, not hindering it. And competing networks aren?t being told to keep their sourcing down to 30-second clips ? they?re being told they get one half-minute bite.

Hillary dominates
Obama stumbles, ummms, and generally looks ill-prepared.

Looks tired
I thought he took his punches pretty good in the first half, but he started out tired and got much worse as the night wore on. This Ayers thing could be an ugly tipping point. I'm old enough to remember the Weather Underground and there aint nothing good coming from that. I think this debate tips Hillary back to a double digit win in Penn. which could bleed into Indiana. I like Obama and hope it doesn't go that way, but this had a real ominous feel to me. I think Hillary should leave feeling like she got back in it in a real way. I see no chance of anybody getting out before Denver. The big winner tonight? McCain.

Or not
I started my last post as Obama was giving his final summation. A few minutes later the audiece turned on the hosts. Obama may walk away looking ganged up on by Hillary and a former campaign operative. He's got a long road ahead of him against McCain, but Hillary may have ABC to blame when her next poll shows her "going too negative." Weird night. Hillary looked great, Barack looked like hell, and he may still be the winner. It's gotta drive the Clintons crazy.

ABC west coast debate...
well, i tell ya.....i live in northern california and watched keith oberman's summary of the debate at 7:00p.m. on MSNBC, an hour before they showed the debate way out here in 49er's land! after hearing how the first hour was tabloid-ganging-up-on-obama time, and listening to the valued opinions of howard fineman, eugene robinson (pulitzer worthy) et al, who needed to hear george stepha...., prez clinton's former employee (hello?) pick apart the leading candidate for two hours??? so i have it tivoed, but don't feel the need..... hope ABC is proud of controlling our night and 30 second blips cause it SO did not work!!

EXACTLY!!!

One answer.....well frank.....it feels pretty darn good since my candidate IS a republican!!! (ya know what happens when you 'assume' something, my dear), and in the spirit of ".....keep your enemies closer", i worship at the feet of chris matthews, a walking-talking political history book and the next senator from the great state of PA in 2010.

Post script - but i do adore barack. i'm gulping the kool-aide here.

I can not believe ABC would bring up gun control with Democrats. They are obviously in the pockets of the Republicans.

well, mr. lobo, go ahead and take my conservative card away if it makes you feel better. here's my thinking, sir......i am not cattle just following the tail in front of me w/ blinders on. i don't like unfair treatment of ANY candidate and often times we learn more by listening to all sides instead of having our lips move whilst we hear the same thoughts and opinions of our own. winning unfairly is a hollow victory and continued use of 'barry husein' and flag pin finger pointing neither lowers my taxes or feeds a family of five in north carolina, does it? i'm confident enough in my beliefs, thoughts and convictions to hear opposing views.....at the very least it's entertaining, and at the most, i learn something from it......what a novel idea!!

Whoa...
mr. lobo....i wish you could see my furrowed brow. i mean this sincerely....i was NOT trying to put you down in any way by expressing my own thoughts and i apologize if my remarks came across that way. your 'knuckle-dragging' comments, however, make you seem just a tad defensive.

have you noticed how far we have strayed from the original subject of this blog??? i have never ever blogged before today and i think i have made my feelings clear. take care....

Does anyone else notice that BO does not have one coherent thought on either the econmoy or Iraq? I think the follow ups by Gibson concerning the CG Taxes were not only justified, but necessary! He simply doesn't know what he is talking about. I guess I am hopeless

>> I guess I am hopeless <<

If you're getting your information on a candidate's platform based on the analysis of a spinmeister on television, you just might be. I'm probably not going to vote for Obama, but he has platforms and you can read his platforms on his website. You know. . . read for yourself, instead of sitting and watching somebody on televisions tell you that a candidate doesn't have a clear vision for anything.

And I love how poor, persecuted FrankLobo tells somebody he's not being condescending and then accuses them of not being a real conservative because they watch Olberman or something, like that's the litmus test: you can't be a conservative unless you stick to Franklobo's unpretentious, non-judgmental list of approved media sources.

Lobo
You watch the evil Keith? Careful, you'll get burned - by the truth!

Unlike some Dems, I'm not convinced Barry will be beat McSleepy, but you're dreamin' if you think it'll be a landslide. He'll easily get the coasts. The elitist vote! McWhere-was-I would have decimated Gore in 2000, but that maverick isn't around this time. The vote will be close, but the economy and Iraq will probably keep him from winning. Betcha Barry puts him in the Cabinet.
