| Moderate | Posted 4/23/2008 12:08:54 PM | show profile MSNBC is looking for someone with the mindset of Olbermann. For MSNBC?s nighttime lineup to ultimately work, viewers needed to be able to follow at least some common themes from one show to another. They tried to get Rosie O'Donnell and that failed, so they are trying to get Maddow in their lineup. Simulcasting Maddow may work well since both networks cater to the far left wing kooks. |
| rockyroad1 | Posted 4/23/2008 12:58:53 PM | show profile I love watching Matthews election coverage but I can't stomach Maddow. She just doesn't shut up. Plus, whats with the faces she makes when others are talking. Can't they find another left winger that at least doesn't look like a bull in a china closet? Her Q rating must suck. |
| chucho | Posted 4/23/2008 2:22:19 PM | show profile Yes, but when Paul Krugman goes on air he's eaten alive by the blowhard douche-bags he's put on with. He's a quiet and reasonable man who doesn't shout other people down, make snide condescending and sarcastic remarks and actually listens to what other people say -- so he doesn't make for good TEEVEE. A lot of smart and reasonable liberals are like that. So what happens is that teevee producers need some equally douche-y liberal to yell back at the ranting right wing tool -- hence Rachel Maddow, Randi Rhodes, etc. What the cable news networks want are two idiots ranting to each other -- it just so happens that there are more conservative idiots to choose from. The smart libs are actually too busy to waste their time arguing with the likes of Sean Hannity. So show producers have to resort to manufacturing "liberal pundits" so they make Rachel Sklar an "expert" and then put her on. Or they grow Colmes in a laboratory and throw him on as a stuffed shirt foil to Hannity. Even I side with Hannity when I see those two morons have a discussion. |
