mirage: write those plays!

wineaux, janet, etc.: i have that same school dream, w/some twists

caitlin: mri's! omg! they suck.

keltoi: are you by any chance an aquarius? i am; and i think maybe the (supposed) qualities of the sign apply to you (and to me too)

mad: what's contributory negligence? love your poem!

1. Have you ever been audited? no! knock wood; what a pain that would be.

2. Do you have any reoccurring dreams or nightmares?
i do. the school thing, as i said above: but usually it's that someone else has enrolled me (not sure who), and i don't even find out i'm enrolled until the semester is almost done (i've been busy working); and i don't know where my classes are, and i'm gonna fail everything, etc.

i used to have a dream that my mom (after she had died) dearly wanted to talk to my father, but he would not talk to her; and i dearly wanted to talk to her, but she was busy trying to get my dad to talk to her first. sheesh. terrible dream.

3. When you look at yourself naked, what is usually your first thought?
why did i not have nude photos taken every day when i was in my 20s?

4. What childhood fears did you have that never came true?
that i would never feel more confident than i did as a teenager

5. Do you hold any belief in astrology?
once in a while. as above, i do think i seem to have qualities of an aquarius. we are supposed to be very concerned with justice/fairness and interested in making our own paths.

6. What urban legends do you secretly hope are true?
hmm. i guess it's not a legend, but i love that guy who teaches people what plants they can eat in various city parks.

7. Have you ever faked an orgasm?
yes indeed.

8. Do you remember a time when your intuition or instinct was correct?
yes, sure. the trick for me is to listen to it.

9. Have you ever experienced claustrophobia?
yes. i didn't used to. now, crowded elevators and subways, and just huge crowds that i can't move in, can freak me out. i will avoid something i'd otherwise like to go to if i think there will be a mob of people that i can't avoid. and yes, mri's blow.

10. Will anyone be sharing your bed tonight?
yup. and he will bring his quadrafecta of in-sleep noises: tooth-grinding, snoring, talking, and farting.

there once was a girl from westchester
at song lyrics, no one could best her
she's now in "the city"
life's not always pretty
but mostly she knows fortune's blessed her

(is that corny? i went to it mostly 'cause it rhymed with "westchester." but i think it's true. mostly. yeah.)

treatment update:
i got an email today from a young woman new to nyc who has recently been diagnosed with bc. she got my info from a "young survivors" group we're both in, and she wants guidance. i will be happy to help her in every/any way. but i was dismayed to hear that she is 28 years old. 28!! women are being diagnosed younger and younger--and medical research is not keeping up with this fact. at all. what is going on with young women and breast cancer?! girls--please--do your regular self breast exams. and do not let anyone tell you you're too young.

pb--seems like you're managing well; glad to hear.

I'm actually a Cancerian (I kinda like Moon Child better). Most of the sign applies except the moody (I'm not) and a whiz at finance (hardly). Also Year of the Dog, and most of that applies too.

Pamelabeth,

Speaking of Westchester, I was going to try a writing a poem about my youth, but rhyming something with Mamaroneck besides heck and dreck was too daunting. :)

Contributory negligence is a legal loophole that as far as I know, is only on the books in five states. Basically, someone who causes harm to you or your property (in our case, it was real estate fraud) has to be 100 percent in the wrong or you can't claim damages. If you share even 1 percent of the responsibility (as in you should have known better, were warned, etc.), the perp gets off Scott free. In other states, you can sue for the 99 percent.

1. Have you ever been audited?
Nope.

2. Do you have any reoccurring dreams or nightmares?
I don't really remember my dreams very often. But the few dreams I do remember have been incredibly psychic. I think I must have ESP or something. Is that what it's called? ESP?

3. When you look at yourself naked, what is usually your first thought?
Hubba hubba!

4. What childhood fears did you have that never came true?
Hmm...I can't think of any childhood fears I had that haven't come true. Allof the fears I've ever had are still the ones I have today, unfortunately.

5. Do you hold any belief in astrology?
Oops, I almost thought you said astronomy and was going to write a totally different answer!

But astrolgy... do I believe it? Not really. But that doesn't stop me from reading my horoscope in the paper everyday. You know, just in case.

6. What urban legends do you secretly hope are true?
None that come to mind.

7. Have you ever faked an orgasm?
Nope. No need.

8. Do you remember a time when your intuition or instinct was correct?
Hmm, nothing specific. But my gut insticts are usually right.

9. Have you ever experienced claustrophobia?
Very, very rarely. There has to be other dangerous aspects to the situation to trigger claustrophobia.

But my mother has awful claustrophobia. I remember the elevator got stuck one time for maybe 5 minutes and she was absolutely hysterical.

10. Will anyone be sharing your bed tonight?
Hmm, it's Friday night.....let's see who I can pick up!

~Bonus Question~

I'm not much of a poet. I can't rhyme.

2. Do you have any reoccurring dreams or nightmares? no

3. When you look at yourself naked, what is usually your first thought?
Hmmmmmmmm........No problems with gravity yet! I love those breasts! Still perky! And check out those feet! I can see them! :)

4. What childhood fears did you have that never came true?
That someone would come out of the closet. Barricaded that door every night!

5. Do you hold any belief in astrology? Virgo, Leo rising, Scorpio moon! I love astrology, but I'm not a daily reader.

6. What urban legends do you secretly hope are true? none

7. Have you ever faked an orgasm? No. I am honest and just say "This one's for you honey!"

8. Do you remember a time when your intuition or instinct was correct? Always is. When I don't pay attention I pay the price.

9. Have you ever experienced claustrophobia? Yes, I almost drowned once and never let myself be wreckless on or in the water again. I can't dive because of it.

10. Will anyone be sharing your bed tonight? Yes, my sweetheart, whom I love with all my heart. :)

Kind as the angels and softer than down,
I sing like a songbird when no one's around.
Dancing and laughing is my finest work,
always forgiving no matter the jerk.
I'm always there whenever I'm needed,
won't ever hurt you and never conceited.
A better friend will never be had,
I'll always love you when you are bad.
