| catlondon | Posted 4/25/2008 4:43:40 PM | show profile I haven't bought or sold anything on eBay in a few years, but I just looked into putting some shoes up for sale. So, eBay isn't really eBay anymore, is it? It's all online retailers using Buy It Now and very few auction sale types. Sad. Any other sites stepped in cater to former average people eBay people? |
| keltoi2 | Posted 4/29/2008 6:30:24 PM | show profile That's a mighty sweeping generalization there, cat. I've been on Ebay for 10 years and I still see the vast majority (well over 90%) as auctions, not Buy it Nows. Maybe it depends on the category. |
| astrahook | Posted 4/29/2008 9:40:01 PM | show profile would you rather get more for your old shoes and sell out to the man for going on a corporate main stream auction site or would you prefer to get less but going with a real grass roots kind of auction site? |
| Canadiana | Posted 4/29/2008 11:05:55 PM | show profile Try Craig's List or Kijiji; both move fast and posts are free. |
| keltoi | Posted 4/30/2008 12:31:52 AM | show profile astra, did you really say "sell out to the man"? |
| HisGirlFriday | Posted 4/30/2008 11:12:40 AM | show profile I second the nomination on craig's list. It's easy and free. We've used it twice for relatively big sales/buys (each close to $1,000) and were not dissapointed. I like how it feels very democratic and almost small-town-ish. |
| writesonwater | Posted 5/2/2008 2:03:14 PM | show profile I like both Craig's List and eBay. I have gotten some great deals on eBay, including the suit for the town mascot -- no lie. |
