| Letterbox | Posted 4/25/2008 7:00:15 PM | show profile I wonder why designers and writers are always discounted as if the work they do is worth less than paying caterers or the parking valet. In my experience doing probono work like this never leads to anything but more requests for free work. |

| recovering_jersey_girl | Posted 4/26/2008 10:17:25 AM | show profile I'm a freelance writer. Will Wimbledon Designs make some clothes for me, pro-bono? They'll get great exposure, as I work from home every day with my dog and she has VERY discriminating taste in clothing (she only eats the expensive stuff). Feel free to get in touch! I'm sure you'll be fulfilled by this arrangement! Reach me at whatacrockofhooey@spam.com. |
| ManhattanMatt | Posted 4/28/2008 1:40:29 AM | show profile Misuse of term "pro bono" ... "Pro bono" is derived from the Latin phrase "for the public good". It's most commonly used for lawyers who are taking on clients who need legal representation, but cannot afford it. Creating a website for a fashion show for free is hardly "for the public good". The correct term you should be using is "for free". |
