Just out of curiosity, does anyone know if Conde Nast hires interns for the summer other than through their internship program? I realize it's way too late for any of that, but I'm just evaluating my own internship search for this year and wondering where I possibly could have done things differently.

Thanks!

I believe that they do hire interns other than through the paid internship program, but the ones that I have heard about are unpaid and at the discretion of different editors/departments within magazines rather than through HR.

check out ed2010
they have a job board on there just for internships. I'm not sure if they are hiring for summer or fall, but it's possible. I see new posts every day.

Twoshoes-
Almost every CN mag hires interns not through the program for credit only internships. You would contact the assistant of the department you are interested in directly, check out the masthead and the format is first name_lastname@condenast.com

Though the summer internships fill up extremely quickly (March even) you can always shoot out a few emails asking if they need an extra hand. There is always a chance that someone has backed out.

Good luck to you!

Thanks so much everyone - I really appreciate your input. Somewhere I got it in my mind that they only hire interns through the summer progam - I feel silly now for not realizing that's not always the case.

Yup, I'm actually a CN intern this summer not through the program -- found a listing on Ed2010, e-mailed, and voila. :)
