I came across this contest that will help launch the career of aspiring Thriller authors.

First prize is pretty cool: a consultation with published author Jon Land (Land has published over 20 novels, and is also a judge of the contest), 20 printed copies of your book, help with the design of the cover of your book, editing help, and assistance with promotion of the book, press releases, professionally written synopsis and so on.

There are more prizes, too.

It's at www.writingroom.com.

I don't think it's cool. If you win, you have to agree to self-publish your book. Basically, this contest is only worthwhile if you've extended every effort to find legtimate publication.

Self-publish
I think self-publishing is pretty cool, if you want to publish in a hurry. Callie's Redemption by Rebekah Kasey is a great book that was self-published. Ms. Kasey has sold five thousand copies in just over two months.
