Topic: Photo book suggestion?

| SeeKatyWrite | Posted 4/30/2008 5:56:25 PM | show profile | email poster I'm sure many of you can sympathize with my situation! I work at a regional magazine division -- we publish three titles (two per month), but there are only three of us that are directly involved in editorial/design/production -- so we all have about 5 job titles! Does anyone have any recommendations on a good book for basic photography techniques? I'm finding myself having to take more and more pictures, but other than recreational photos, I don't have any formal training, nor is it an option for me to enroll in any sort of class. Any suggestions you can offer would be appreciated! ------ ----- katy ryan editor | freelance writer | blogger www.KatyWrites.com |

| SeeKatyWrite | Posted 5/1/2008 7:14:23 PM | show profile We publish two magazines that are each county-based, so we have a lot of lifestyle and community-driven content. One county is mostly small towns and a large military post, and the other is a mix of rural and urban. The third title is a leisure, entertainment and dining mag that's skewed a little younger and encompasses a larger area than the other two magazines combined, including small towns and large cities, all within the greater Kansas City metropolitan area. |
