| al medio | Posted 5/1/2008 9:49:42 AM | show profile I thought all the flamethrowers were banned. That's right this is M.B. only the right wingers were tossed. What chucho the daily kos had nothing for you today? |
| inappropriate_user | Posted 5/1/2008 11:41:32 AM | show profile Flamethrowing is fine. Obnoxious rude behavior towards individual posters and thread hijacking are not. |
| jtjt225m | Posted 5/1/2008 11:59:47 AM | show profile Don't get upset about the facts. They put up a picture of Fredrick Douglass, not Stephen Douglas, and the host didn't even notice, or even care. That's the sad part. Also, as far as I've heard no one has even said a word about it on FNC. That's the real story. |
| chucho | Posted 5/1/2008 12:05:23 PM | show profile Is the new right wing tactic on this board to "define down" the meaning of flame-throwing? Go ahead and feel persecuted if makes you feel better. |
| chucho | Posted 5/1/2008 12:14:50 PM | show profile Actually, FN is pretty bad with these type of errors. I remember the first Mark Foley reports had s "D-FL" after his name -- I guess the FN graphics department couldn't imagine that a Republican could be hitting on underage boys. (You know, 'cause only stinky lib-rils are child rapists, racists and murderers.) But these are just mistakes of ignorance, presumptuousness, and illiteracy, not anything consciously orchestrated, IMO. |
| al medio | Posted 5/1/2008 12:16:59 PM | show profile who is upset? I'm sorry but I don't pray at the alter of Fox News. Every tv news outlet in the country has had video errors. Big deal whose face is chucho trying to put in the mud with this link, they banned all his rivals. |
| chucho | Posted 5/1/2008 1:18:24 PM | show profile Apology accepted al medio (that means "lukewarm" in Spanish, dunnit?). I knew you didn't mean it! That mistake was hilarious! I'm glad you also found it funny. LOL! |
| al medio | Posted 5/1/2008 1:46:46 PM | show profile al medio means in the middle or to the middle. tibio is lukewarm. But I think you already knew that. |
| chucho | Posted 5/1/2008 2:28:58 PM | show profile I had to laugh at Eric's comment because, actually, his comment doesn't contribute to the topic, either. It's like a meta comment! I know news orgs make mistakes. But you'd think all these patriotic flag-pendants wearing Fox producers would know enough about the greatest Republican president of all time to know who participated in of the most important presidential debates of all time: the one that, you know, addressed whether the United States should continue to exist or not. What's sad is that I'm sure so many people didn't even notice it. I wonder how many people who saw that now believe that in fact Abraham Lincoln debated Fredrick Douglass. |
| al medio | Posted 5/1/2008 2:51:36 PM | show profile Actually they did debate, but not in public only in private. If anyone remembers history, Fredrick Douglass tried to convince Lincoln on the merits of raising an all black army. It took him over a year to change Lincoln's mind. It was MLK and LBJ just a century earlier. |
