1. How many millionaires do you know?

One for sure. She's a stingy, selfish bitch. I think another couple we know might be and they are the kindest, most thoughtful, down-to-earth people ever.

2. Do you now, or have you ever, ironed your socks and underwear?

Dear God no.

3. Do you have email friends or pen pals that you have never met in person?

No. I used to, in the early days of the Internet.

4. How do you plan to use your "stimulus" check?

We'd really like to donate it to charity - either a group that supports Iraq veterans, or a general poverty organization. But sadly, we also have to get our 18-year-old, 160k mile-car fixed.

5. In what ways are you unreliable?

I'm actually quite reliable.

6. Have you ever stalked someone?

Kind of: I was madly in love with this photographer I met while on an internship a million years ago and I used to send him text message poetry. This was before you could send such messages using a computer so I had to read it to an operator.

7. In what ways is humanity better because of you?

I volunteer a lot - my pet project is gathering children's clothing and gear and funnelling it to a variety of charity groups in my city that serve poor moms and kids. Basically I help outfit dozens of kids every year. I probably have 20 coats in my basement waiting for next season.

And if I give a homeless person money _ I always look them in the eye and say; "Take care," or "Have a nice day," or something like that.

8. What are your favorite TV show reruns?

Scrubs. Family Guy. Just Shoot Me.

9. How many times this past month were you rejected either personally or professionally?

I made a pass at my husband the other day and he was too exhausted from work. Ye-ouch.

10. What is generally your first thought upon waking up in the morning?

Please let the Kid ask for Daddy so I can sleep in.

~Bonus Question~
Time for another random brag. Tell us something wonderful about you.

See #7.

1. How many millionaires do you know?

Way too many.

2. Do you now, or have you ever, ironed your socks and underwear?

You're kidding, right?

3. Do you have email friends or pen pals that you have never met in person?

Finally met them in January for the first time. It was a nice experience.

4. How do you plan to use your"stimulus" check?

The dentist is going to be happier than me.

5. In what ways are you unreliable?

I'm too reliable.

6. Have you ever stalked someone?

The closest I came to stalking, was, as a 13 year old having a crush on a boy who lived across the street. I used to look out the window for hours at a time (while reading a book, of course) waiting for him to come or go.

7. In what ways is humanity better because of you?

Perhaps because I think of others before I think of myself?

8. What are you favorite TV show reruns?

I usually don't watch any reruns, but I will catch snipets of Seinfeld. As a child, I loved watching I Love Lucy, over and over again.

9. How many times this past month were you rejected either personally or professionally?

Once, but she got over it and so did I.

10. What is generally your first thought upon waking up in the morning?

What's the weather like? (If it's not raining, snowing or windchill below 15 degrees, my friend and I take our morning walk - so I wake up to the thought of weather.)

BQ

Had two Passover sedars at my home and can't get over about what a great time everyone had. Sitting with everyone, both family and friends, I felt so accomplished and wonderful to have such gatherings - and trust me -- it had nothing to do with my cooking! :)

1. How many millionaires do you know?
Know well? About 8.

2. Do you now, or have you ever, ironed your socks and underwear?
They're lucky they get folded.

3. Do you have email friends or pen pals that you have never met in person?
Acquaintances through work, sure. But not real friends.

4. How do you plan to use your "stimulus" check?
Pay an oil bill.

5. In what ways are you unreliable?
Used to be real bad with finances, but gotten much better. Same with punctuality. (Marriage can do that.) And I can be absent-minded sometimes.

6. Have you ever stalked someone?
No.

7. In what ways is humanity better because of you?
That's a pretty big claim, but I try to be kind and thoughtful to others, have a strong sense of fairness, and basically try to keep common courtesy going with people I meet. I'm also supporting my stepdaughters and five grandkids (4 of them in our house) to give them a better shot at life then they were having.

8. What are your favorite TV show reruns?
I don't watch television.

9. How many times this past month were you rejected either personally or professionally?
Haven't been. In fact, was passed over in a big series of layoffs at the company recently.

10. What is generally your first thought upon waking up in the morning?
It is far too early to expect me to function.

~Bonus Question~
Time for another random brag. Tell us something wonderful about you.
I'm kind to pets, children, and small woodland creatures.

1. How many millionaires do you know?
A few, maybe only 3 really well.

2. Do you now, or have you ever, ironed your socks and underwear?
I don't iron anything. I thought that's what the dryer was for?

3. Do you have email friends or pen pals that you have never met in person?
No.

4. How do you plan to use your "stimulus" check?
It will probably pay some stupid bills.

5. In what ways are you unreliable?
I don't like to drive very much so if you need a ride to the airport, I'm probably not the one you want to call.

6. Have you ever stalked someone?
No.

7. In what ways is humanity better because of you?
Oh, I've had it with humanity. I'm focusing my efforts on animals these days.

8. What are your favorite TV show reruns?
The Golden Girls. I also like to do a Deadwood marathon once in awhile.

9. How many times this past month were you rejected either personally or professionally?
Professionally, I think twice. I don't think I've been rejected personally, I'd probably remember if I had.

10. What is generally your first thought upon waking up in the morning?
Time to walk the puppies.

~Bonus Question~
Time for another random brag. Tell us something wonderful about you.
Due to my fondness for Golden Girls reruns, I would totally rock in some kind of Golden Girls Trivia Game Show and would win millions of dollars.

1. At least three. One lives on my floor, flies his own jet to his multiple homes, drives a new Jag, but is quiet and modest, as is his wife.
2. LOL.
3. Yes, several. One came from the MB bulletin board and has become a good friend.
4. Pay off debt.
5. I generally don't make promises I won't keep.
6. No.
7. Oy. I've done a tremendous amount of mentoring of peers and newbies in this industry. I try to make most people laugh or feel comfortable.
8.
9. Unreturned calls/emails made to editors? Quite a few. Is that rejection or just normal?
10. How many minutes before BBC World News begins?

BQ:
Oy again. Canadians are bred to be modest. I think "wonderful" is very much, if not totally, in the eye of the beholder. Some of the qualities I like in myself drive others mad -- and others love them. OK, I'm a good cook.

Wish me luck tomorrow, please: rotator cuff surgery then months of PT ahead.

1. How many millionaires do you know?

Hmm...I think one of my clients is one for sure, and my dad was one.

2. Do you now, or have you ever, ironed your socks and underwear?

Hell no. I don't have time to be that anal.

3. Do you have email friends or pen pals that you have never met in person?

I used to, but that seems to have slipped off the wayside in recent years. I have a hard enough time keeping in touch with all of my friends in various areas as it is!

4. How do you plan to use your "stimulus" check?

Pay off debt.

5. In what ways are you unreliable?

At work, sometimes I can be more of a big-pictures ideas person and then lose track of some details. But my boss is the other way around, so I think we balance each other out. I think that's what makes our working relationship so great.

6. Have you ever stalked someone?

Kind of...in college, I had a raging crush on one particular guy, and I would randomly drunk-email him every month or so. He totally would act like it never happened when he saw me. Drunk e-mailing is my Achilles' heel.

7. In what ways is humanity better because of you?
I don't think I could claim that! But I always remember to send flowers on friends' birthdays and like to do random little unexpected favors for people. I think there needs to be more of that. I think people these days tend to lose the human side of friendships and relationships. We're all e-mail, Facebook, MySpace, etc.

8. What are your favorite TV show reruns?
Seinfeld, for sure. And old cartoons.

9. How many times this past month were you rejected either personally or professionally?

Once at work for a not-so-big idea.

10. What is generally your first thought upon waking up in the morning?
Do I have to really get up?

~Bonus Question~
Time for another random brag. Tell us something wonderful about you.

It's not wonderful about me, but it's wonderful - I get to go on vacation to the Caribbean in a few days!
Mag Girl Posted – 5/1/2008 11:06:58 AM | show profile
Caitlin- good luck on surgery and PT. PT is the worst. My unsolicited advice is to get that arm and shoulder moving ASAP no matter how much it hurts. That scar tissue forms so quickly, and it will end up hurting a lot more later if you don't- when they have to force it to move! I know this from negative experience...
But seriously, good luck, get rest and get lots of happy pain meds!

Oh, I forgot my usual random brag- I am in a medical journal for an old injury years ago that my orthopedist said was one of the most unusual injuries he had ever seen. I'm listed somewhere as "19-yr-old female."

1. How many millionaires do you know?
A LOT - it seems when you have that kind of cash already, more money just runs up and sticks to them like glue. One of our friends sold his broadcast company and partial payment was over 900 mill, in the bank that day, that did not include stock ops or the other businesses he is involved with.

2. Do you now, or have you ever, ironed your socks and underwear?
hahaha, no never but my grand mother ironed socks, underwear, bras, sheets, washcloths, if it was fabric, she ironed it. I actually don't iron. The man irons every day, he's got his spiffy new man iron, some spray starch and he's set to go.

3. Do you have email friends or pen pals that you have never met in person?
Yes, youseguys and some others on Travelwriters message board.

4. How do you plan to use your "stimulus" check?
In Oh Canada, not getting one.

5. In what ways are you unreliable?
I am very reliable.

6. Have you ever stalked someone?
No, I'm too busy. Can't think of anyone I would want to stalk. Depp is too short.

7. In what ways is humanity better because of you?
Good question. I am in a hurry so will come back to that later after I ponder some.

8. What are your favourite TV show reruns?
Don't watch reruns. Ooops. Liar. I still love Seinfeld.

9. How many times this past month were you rejected either personally or professionally?
None.

10. What is generally your first thought upon waking up in the morning?
How wonderful it is to be greeted with the cuddles and kisses of my husband and puppies. You just cannot help but wake up with a smile on your face. ;-)

~Bonus Question~
Time for another random brag. Tell us something wonderful about you.
Well when I was younger I used to say I was cute and fun to be with. Now I am too old to be cute but I am still fun to be with. I look on the bright side of life and try to be kind, help others and embrace each new day with a positive
attitude.

1. How many millionaires do you know?
I'd say between 15 and 20.

2. Do you now, or have you ever, ironed your socks and underwear?
I ironed my underwear once when I was a kid. I think I saw it on tv and wanted to try it. I also tried this with bedsheets.

3. Do you have email friends or pen pals that you have never met in person?
No, though I think it's kinda cool to have a few.

4. How do you plan to use your "stimulus" check?
Putting it towards my vacation, which I'm taking at the end of the year.

5. In what ways are you unreliable?
I'm not unreliable at all.

6. Have you ever stalked someone?
No, but I've been stalked. It was scary.

7. In what ways is humanity better because of you?
I'm unfailingly kind. Also, I'm very polite.

8. What are your favorite TV show reruns?
The Cosby Show. King of Queens. Gilmore Girls. I also like the Honeymooners marathon that runs on New Year's Day.

9. How many times this past month were you rejected either personally or professionally?
Personally, twice. Professionally, once.

10. What is generally your first thought upon waking up in the morning?
What time is it? Is it a weekday or weekend?

~Bonus Question~
Time for another random brag. Tell us something wonderful about you.
I have a really pretty smile and nice, feminine hands.

Nikon, please inform me of the name of this "man iron" and any features it has that makes men less allergic to ironing. My husband will do stuff around the house, but when it comes to ironing- well, he hands his stuff to me sheepishly and asks me to do it.

Haha, it is really just a regular iron. Hamilton Beech, it is so big, you could practically drive the thing across the clothes.
He is a performer and must iron his 8 trillion shirts.

PT starts the next day...and a friend has promised brownies on Sunday. Between pain meds and chocolate, hoping it will be OK. My first knee op offered six months of really exhausting pain/PT.
It is the decision to try to avoid pain meds addiction -- a real problem for many -- and enduring pain.

Caitlinkelly- Good luck with shoulder surgery. If you have post-operative pain, don't suck it up! Take the meds! I had shoulder surgery a couple of years ago, the pain is gone but my arm is still weak because I don't use the damn arm enough. Do the physical therapy. A shoulder is a terrible thing to waste!

Nikongirl- We're separated at birth. The husband LOVES ironing too. So do all my kids. They didn't get it from me!

Reruns - how could I forget? The Twilight Zone marathon on New Year's Day. My new year wouldn't be complete without it!

voracious--Back when I watched TV I taped the NY Channel 11 Twilight Zone marathon, so I always have them when I want 'em. And I hate ironing too, but fortunately, my wife loves it.

thanks, np. You do too. My wife and I believe our granddaughters deserve better than the lowlife they got stuck with for a father. We knew that if we didn't do anything when we could and they wound up screwed up 10 years from now, we couldn't live with ourselves.
keltoi2 Posted – 5/1/2008 12:41:28 PM | show profile
Oh, and np--the absentminded thing--I always like to tell the anecdote (not sure if true) that Einstein was so absentminded that his wife painted their front door red so he'd know which house was his. Of course, when I use it as an excuse, people look at me and say, "But what's your excuse?"

Caitlin--good luck with the cuff! PB and Nandy--hope you're doing OK with treatments.

1. How many millionaires do you know?
Quite a few. This is NYC...who doesn't know spoiled little boys and girls who like to play the poverty game as "starving artists" for a little while before retreating back to their regular lives?

4. How do you plan to use your "stimulus" check?
Exactly the way it was intended: Shopping for things I do not really need.

5. In what ways are you unreliable?

8. What are your favorite TV show reruns?
Twin Peaks, Frasier, Will & Grace, The Twilight Zone, Three's Company
