| writerwhowantsNY | Posted 5/1/2008 10:10:53 AM | show profile I really want to intern in NYC come fall twice a week. I don't know which publications are more likely to offer "entry-level" to people out of state (but id be willing to come in 2x a week for the internship). Any ideas? |
| aristotle | Posted 5/1/2008 5:42:59 PM | show profile look on ed2010. they are starting to post internship opportunities for the fall right now. if you're willing to commute, it shouldn't be an issue. |

| inblue | Posted 5/2/2008 9:28:00 PM | show profile writergirl you have a pretty good shot because less people apply for fall internships. start contacting assistants at the magazines you are interested in now. let them know your availability and how interested you are. be enthusiastic and be flexible about coming in to interview and i'm sure you will land something. be persistent! |
| Lula | Posted 5/4/2008 2:16:07 AM | show profile Here's another angle - if you're attending univ., check and see if there are any alums working in NYC that might be able to pull a string or two. That's how I lined up my NYC mag internship years ago...although I bailed on it to move to the West Coast instead... |
| Lula | Posted 5/4/2008 2:16:51 AM | show profile ...which I would never recommend, by the way! (Bailing in general, not moving to the West Coast). |
