hi - a couple of weeks ago i sent my resume to a friend who knows someone in HR for a major pub. co. since she was not the HR rep for the division for the jobs i was interested in, she fwd my resume to the correct HR rep. the HR rep contact me and i had a 'weeding out' phone interview monday that went well. she said she would fwd my resume to the hiring mgrs. and they may contact me directly. i haven't heard anything. the job is still posted on their site. i currently work for their competitor and know the slow, lengthy process for job hiring.

anyway, i did not send a thank-you, follow-up email to her. should i have? do you think this has to do with why i haven't received a call for an interview? is it too late for me to do it now or monday? it's been 7 years since i've looked for a job.

thanks!

send her a thank you email or call her and leave a message. it nothing else it will remind her that you are still interested.
