| Eric Cartman | Posted 5/6/2008 4:34:51 PM | show profile MSNBC Finds Penguins at North Pole... But Penguins Don't LIVE at North Pole http://newsbusters.org/blogs/warner-todd-huston/2008/05/06/msnbc-finds-penguins-north-pole-penguins-dont-live-north-pole And yet we are to believe that the media isn't overhyping global warming. |
| reporterwriter | Posted 5/6/2008 8:45:40 PM | show profile It most likely wasn't due to some huge media conspiracy, but to a dweeb assistant who pulled up the wrong B-roll. I'd rather ask why none of these bloggers bothered to call MSNBC for an explanation if it was so worth the blog space. |
| al medio | Posted 5/6/2008 8:49:20 PM | show profile Someone must have contacted MSNBC because the penguins were removed from the video. |
| reporterwriter | Posted 5/7/2008 12:15:43 AM | show profile Or they noticed it themselves when it aired. |
| al medio | Posted 5/7/2008 9:47:54 AM | show profile They fixed the penguins but how long will it take to fix the rock outcroppings? It's the arctic ice sheet not a mountain range. I'm shocked Michelle Kosinski didn't have her canoe like in N.J. It still makes me laugh her paddling in ankle high water as two men walk by. |
| reporterwriter | Posted 5/7/2008 11:55:04 AM | show profile Have you worked around on-air talent? They're a different breed. |
| al medio | Posted 5/7/2008 5:12:21 PM | show profile They are a different breed but when she has the facts there is no reason for her to continue to over sell. NBC should ship her off to Dateline where she would fit in with their style and let other reporters handle the news. |
| reporterwriter | Posted 5/8/2008 3:23:44 PM | show profile The canoe and the penguins probably weren't her call. It takes a village to build a TV news report. |
| al medio | Posted 5/8/2008 4:11:54 PM | show profile I guess I just take things too personally when it's a subject I believe in. There are too many people like (Eric) who will point and say it's hype because of reporters like Michelle who embellish their coverage. |
| Guyarthurthomas | Posted 5/9/2008 10:22:27 AM | show profile Let's see...the video portion of the story is out and out a LIE...and some how we aren't to question the integrity of the story? Sounds like someone prefers believing in fairy tales rather than admitting to what is right in front of them. |
| al medio | Posted 5/9/2008 10:31:14 AM | show profile Wow what insight Guy. The video is fake so the story must be a fairy tale. |
| Guyarthurthomas | Posted 5/9/2008 3:17:56 PM | show profile And what naivety...a deceptive video is used and we shouldn't take time to question the validity of the story it is used to support. Good lord the child, you are ripe for membership into a cult. |
| reporterwriter | Posted 5/9/2008 8:18:10 PM | show profile >>Good lord the child, you are ripe for membership into a cult.<< Why don't you just go arrest the person who pulled penguin B-roll for a North Pole story and be done with it? |
| Guyarthurthomas | Posted 5/10/2008 10:04:57 AM | show profile Ah yes, the expected answer from one that doesn't really want to deal with the issue at hand. Has anyone suggested anyone being arrested? Of course not. But because the poster above doesn't want to deal with the FACT of a DECEPTIVE VIDEO being used, hence legitimately calling into question the validity of the story, they want to play drama queen and make the hysterical suggestion that the deceptive journalist be arrested. This suggestion is made to avoid the real issue at hand and is a tactic used by children in trying to avoid addressing something by OVERREACTING. Case in point. A child is caught lying. They are caught and confronted and they react by saying, "God, why don't you cut my head off or something". This is an attempt to invalidate the legitimacy of the parent confronting them of their offense by suggesting the parent is acting like a tyrant simply for doing what is right, confronting the lying child. Here a journalist or a group of journalists have been caught lying by using a deceptive video portion to attempt to qualify a story. They have been caught, hence their story legitimately should be called into question. Their integrity has been exposed as wanting. So what do those with a child's mentality do? See above, they react with hysteria to the legitimate call into question the validity of the story. Next please! |
| Grateful Deadline | Posted 5/10/2008 5:05:28 PM | show profile Huh? Somebody goofed by airing penguin footage (which was corrected) and that's deceptive journalism and lack of integrity? Gimme a break! |
| Guyarthurthomas | Posted 5/10/2008 5:24:01 PM | show profile Yes, you libs are always ready with an excuse as opposed to facing what is in front of you. "They goofed", oh yeah like paddling in a boat while the guy next to you is in water barely over his ankles yet you insist it is a deluge. Next please! |
| Grateful Deadline | Posted 5/10/2008 5:41:24 PM | show profile I don't see the vast media conspiracy in what apparently was an error. You do. Oh, well. Different strokes and all that. |
| Grateful Deadline | Posted 5/10/2008 5:56:11 PM | show profile (P.S. I suspect you're taking some delight in drawing out this thread over something absurd!) |
| Guyarthurthomas | Posted 5/11/2008 11:58:59 AM | show profile I am drawing out the thread while that last two responses were yours? LOL, you libs, like I said, you either deny what is right in front of you or are so agenda driven that you simply can't see the forest for the trees. |
| Grateful Deadline | Posted 5/11/2008 12:39:19 PM | show profile I hear you -- you cons shoot now and ask questions later. |
