| shanirfriedman | Posted 5/7/2008 12:07:06 PM | show profile I have a microwave and am wondering if there's someplace I can take it that makes sure appliances and electronics don't wind up in landfills. I know there are groups that accept cell phones, DVD players, etc., but I don't know about larger appliances. Thanks. |
| rhino writer | Posted 5/7/2008 1:47:57 PM | show profile Contact your local trash collection agency and ask them. The one in my town takes old appliances and recycles them. |

| shanirfriedman | Posted 5/12/2008 3:48:23 PM | show profile Actually, it's a non-working microwave does anyone know if Brooklyn has that kind of trash pick up for old appliances? Freecycle probably wouldn't have any takers since it's not usable. |
| wineaux | Posted 5/12/2008 3:50:35 PM | show profile I googled your question, and it led me to a website that suggested you use it to make a diorama. Cripes. Too bad there isn't some artist in NYC you could find that can turn it into a vessel of self expression. |
| catlondon | Posted 5/12/2008 3:57:01 PM | show profile Here you go: http://www.recyclebrooklyn.com/ There are two electronics recycling events coming up. I hope one is close enough to you to be useful. |
