Topic: Breaking into Media Buying in Dallas

After graduation, I'd like to go into media buying and move back home to Dallas for a while to save up some money, but it's seemingly impossible to find an assistant buyer position in Dallas!! I found and applied to one with an affiliate of the company I interned with in NYC last summer - it would have been the perfect job, had I not gotten an e-mail back from my HR contact a few days later saying that they were about to offer the position to someone else. I've called all the media agencies in Dallas, and somehow none of them have positions available. Let's just say I'm getting pretty tired of pursuing jobs that there aren't openings for (it's not that I'm not a good candidate for the position; I've been offered interviews with three major media agencies in NYC, but it's just not a feasible option for me to move there at this point). Does anyone know of a good website, possibly specific to the ad/pr/media industry, I could use to find positions in the D/FW metroplex that ARE available (tried Monster, Indeed, hotjobs, job.com). Any general advice would be very helpful/much appreciated as well. Thanks! |
